How to Accessorize like Dr. Temperance Brennan of Bones
This past summer I re-watched season one of Bones. And seeing the show like that, one episode after another, I became very aware of the jewelry that Dr. Temperance Brennan (Bones) wears as she always wears at least one piece of unique and striking jewelry. And while I may not have the time or ambition to become a forensic anthropologist, I can still dress like (a TV) one.
So, I googled online and the site searchingbones.com said that the show gets some of their jewelry from katelindsay.com. Hopelessly intrigued, I visited the site thinking maybe I could use some of the money I’ll get for Christmas in buying a piece of jewelry. There are some interesting pieces there, and most that I looked at were all one-of-a-kind, although I didn’t think Bones would wear many of them. And while the prices aren’t listed, by looking at the materials used to create them, I deduced that these would be well above my price range. And if I’m going to splurge, I would probably splurge on something else.
My search then lead me to davidaubrey.com, where I spent a good amount of time. These pieces I greatly preferred to the ones on the other site, and they offer several pieces that are much more in my price range. The Ivana collection is very affordable in most of the pieces offered. The Beatrice collection has a variety of affordable french hook earrings, many in very ‘Bones’ colors like green and brown. Of course, if you are looking to splurge, I recommend the necklaces from the Daphne collection.
The pieces of olive jade, bamboo coral, gemstone beads, turquoise, African opal pendants – they are all types of things that you can find on Bones. And if you’re up for a little shopping, maybe on yourself, as well.
I also found in my search, fifilaroux.com, which is expensive but has interesting jewelery.
And if you don’t like to shop online, go to your local target. They have an Into The Woods Wooden Bead Necklace in dark brown by Xhilaration for $14.99. If they don’t have that exact one at your store, look around – look for bold, chunky pieces in warm colors and earth tones.
Now, if only we could work with FBI men as handsome as David Boreanaz.
Cue my dreamy sigh.
You can pick up one of the books by the author who inspired the Bones character

Wow Steph,
Your work is amazing. And it looks exactly like what Temperance wears/would wear.
