Passing Notes from the Underbelly
For any women who watched Sex and the City and wanted to see what it’d be like for Samantha, instead of Miranda, deal with a baby - Notes from the Underbelly is a show you should check out. Right now it airs on Monday nights at 9:30. I don’t think a lot of people know about it, so let me tell you a bit about the show.
Andrew is married to Lauren, and Lauren is pregnant. Andrew and Lauren love each other, but they do fight occasionally. Danny is the slacker friend of Andrew that is on the periphery. Cooper is Lauren’s friend. She’s cynical and shallow, and she’s totally fun to watch. Andrew, Lauren, and Danny are all adults who still have one foot in the kiddie pool. To balance this out, we have Julie and Eric - a happily married, type-A couple. And they’re just crazy about babies, which is great - since they just had one.

The show is a lot about balance, and the struggle for the main characters like Lauren, to maintain their old lives, while incorporating a new baby.
When Cooper made a new friend to make Lauren jealous, the three of them went out for drinks. Because Lauren is pregnant and can’t have alcohol, they mock her. And she says something like, “Oh, this is just for now. Once I’m a Mom I plan to drink everyday.” Ha!
Little gems of quotes are what you’ll find in this show. Although it truly is any scene with Cooper that I find to be the best. Cooper is played by Rachael Harris who you might recognize from the recently released DVD License to Wed. (She’s been in many other things, as well.)
P.S. If you rented/Netflixed that movie, don’t feel bad for not liking it. With Robin Williams, Mandy Moore and (as I call him) the, “cute, funny guy from The Office” John Krasinkski - who thought that movie would be such a flop?!
