Seeing What’s New with America’s Next Top Model Winner Saleisha
Just because the latest cycle of America’s Next Top Model has ended doesn’t mean we can’t still talk about it. There’s press circulating about different models, and I’ve chosen to focus on some press related to the winner, Saleisha Stowers. I’m not such a huge fan because she is so overly perky I think if I were in the same room as her I might have to forcibly sedate her, but anyone has to be better than last cycle’s winner, Jaslene - at least in terms of personality (you know, with the whole having one, thing).
The above is a video with Saleisha’s first post-win interview.
RealityNewsOnline.com has an article (here) published on the 18th of this month. It’s an interview with the winner of the cycle, Saleisha. In the interview, they addressed her haircut. Now, this is a haircut that does not look very good on her - and that’s an agreement that I’ve found among most fans of the show online. But when asked if she planned on keeping the haircut, Saleisha said, “It’s funny you ask. I’ve grown so attached to this look that I have decided to keep it. I’m glad I stuck it out, and I know I had some issues with it at first, but now I love it! I think it really does take my look to the next level, and I love it! Tyra totally knew what she was doing.”
To me, this reeks of some major sucking up to Tyra. Saleisha is so glad that Tyra picked her. I mean, the haircut is really not very good and I don’t think this girl could honestly think that it’s good, could she? If she does, then we really need to question how well she can do as a model (I’m not even going to put the word ‘top’ in there for her).
But in an interview with TVguide.com (here) published on the 19th, Saleisha did seem to be a little more open about the haircut not being so great. At first she has the same sort of response, saying, “…it was very difficult for me at first with the haircut, but I took it for what it was and realized that I’ve got a great opportunity and I’m not going to let this hairstyle stop me from getting my dream. So I just put the hairstyle aside and worked it!”
But when interviewer Ben Katner (whom I now love, when can we start worshiping him?) pushed forward and asked, “And if Tyra Banks says, ‘You look great with this hair,’ what can you say?” I can almost hear a bit of intelligent sarcasm coming across in the response Saleisha gave with, “Thank you. Thank you so much!”
There are rumors going around the Internet that Saleisha winning this past cycle was rigged, and it was unfair. I recently stumbled upon a Youtube community focused around this, with a pretty hilarious name: Scandaleisha. You can visit it: here.
