Fashionable Factoids about ANTM, Plus Spoilers!

ANTM just completed its ninth cycle, and you can already apply for the 11th (just go to the link: here). That’s right, the 11th. Cycle ten will start on February 20th of 2008! That’s why they call them cycles and not seasons, you see.

Care for some fashionable factoids from the show? This place helped me confirm some of my facts.

Weight. I think it’s kind of horrifying to have your weight on a website, but I guess if you’re a model that’s what you do… I point this out, not in any sort of ‘oh, isn’t that unflattering’ way – but to simply show the facts of the show. It’s no secret that it’s a big deal in the modeling world. The heaviest contestant on ANTM was from Cycle 8, and it was Diana Zalewski who was 198lbs. Yoanna House (Cycle 2) weighing in at 138 lbs was the heaviest winner. The lightest contestant was Shandi Sullivan (Cycle 2), who was just 106 lbs. The lightest winner was Jaslene Gonzalez of Cycle 8 who came in at just 110 lbs.

Age is also a big deal in the modeling world because once you’re like, 25, your career is over! (I’m kidding, mostly!) But it’s true – they do like to bring you up young into the business because there isn’t a ton of work for older models. The tie for oldest contestants ever on the show goes to Robin Manning (Cycle 1) and Jade Cole (Cycle 6), who were both 26 at the time. The oldest winner was Yoanna House (Cycle 2) who was 23.

Sadly for the models, panel time does not always let you know exactly how well you’re doing. Joanie Dodd (Cycle 6) had the most consecutive first callouts (3) as well as collective first callouts (5). If you were competing against her you might have wanted to beat her up for doing so well! (Which I do not at all endorse, especially against Joanie.) Joanie did well, of course – she was the runner up of that cycle. But what can I say, I was rooting for her.

I did a little googling and came across Joanie’s official Myspace, here. Several former ANTM contestants seem to have Myspace profiles. I automatically like Joanie more because her page plays a great song (Rogue Wave – Lake Michigan). She offers some great (both healthy-minded and experienced) modeling advice: here. And you can read a bunch of cool random facts (you probably post things like this in your own journals/blogs/Myspace) here.

Nicole Linkletter was the Cycle 5 winner of ANTM. One of the project’s she’s in right now can be viewed at Solowstyle.com. She’s around. She attended Golden Brooks’ birthday dinner party, and the Seenon.com launch party.

If you’ve been reading my posts about Cycle 9, you know that Heather was one of my favorites. Heather has a DeviantArt account, so check that out.
