Waking to the Peaceful Sounds and Sights of Nature

Animal PlanetEvery once in awhile, at my daughter’s request, her and I have a sleepover together in the living room. Last night we fell asleep watching Animal Planet, one of her favorite things to watch when I’ve told her I’ve had enough Disney for the night. I woke up this morning to great peaceful sounds, and upon opening my eyes, some the most beautiful sites. I couldn’t figure out what I was watching.

I had to keep watching. Opening my eyes wider, I saw Stonehenge, with the sun rising over it, and a few birds chirping through the early morning sky. I knew I was still watching Animal Planet, seeing the logo on the screen, but I wasn’t hearing any talking, no introductions to what I was watching, no voiceovers. Just peaceful birds.

StonehengeProcuring the remote from my daughter’s sleeping hands, I hit info and found I was watching Sunrise Earth, a regular morning series on Animal Planet. A check through the TiVo told me it wasn’t on every morning, just some, and that it’s either on for one hour or two, from 6:00 AM CT to either 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM CT. While this morning I had Stonehenge Dawn, tomorrow I will have Buddhists of Wat Svay and Mediterranean Port. It won’t be on during the weekend, but Monday’s programming will include Moose in the Morning and on New Year’s Day morning we’ll see Yellowstone Geysers.

I’m not usually up at 6:00 or 7:00 in the morning, and when I am, I’m not watching TV, but I think I just might be turning on the TV more often during this time. Instead of having music on, I can have the sounds and sights of nature around the world. I might even start TiVoing Sunrise Earth, to watch when I’m looking for a bit of peacefulness.
