Big Brother 9, What Dirty Little Secrets?
Big Brother fans seem to have an extra bounce in their step after getting the news that we’ll have a bonus season this winter. Normally we’d be pouring over every tidbit coming out regarding auditions and possibilities for the season that usually starts around the 4th of July. Instead, we’re salivating at the details coming in of the season that starts two days before Valentine’s Day.
While there was some information early on that the season would be a shortened one, only lasting six weeks, there’s been other information saying that it will be a full, regular season, leaving just a few months before the summer season starts. Allison Grodner has said all castmates have been notified that they are finalists, and there are rumors that at least one guy has been kicked off already, as he was publicizing the fact that he was a Big Brother 9 castmate. Casting Director Robyn Kass won’t confirm or deny this, but she does admit to pulling people at the last minute on other occasions after they had told others they were on the show.
There are a few slight differences in the airings of the show from the past season. It was rumored at one point that Julie Chen wanted no part of this extra edition of Big Brother, but it turns out she will be back weekly for the live evictions. We’ll have Chenbot just like every other season. Instead of having the show on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday nights, it will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday nights, with the live evictions airing on Wednesdays. The Amazing Race will be over by then, and most likely won’t have another season starting just yet. Even if they did have another season of the Race starting, they could just stick it somewhere else on the schedule, as they seem to do to the Race repeatedly. RealPlayer will once again be showing the live feeds for a subscription price, and Showtime has once again signed on to show an edited version of the show, Big Brother After Dark. So if you signed up for Showtime last summer just for this purpose and still hadn’t gotten rid of it, you’re in luck.
As for a theme, it seems it could be the most interesting yet. For a show that has brought us themes of exes sharing space together, secret partners, twins playing as one, and rivals facing off against each other, this season we have commercials playing the All American Rejects song Dirty Little Secrets, and online promos promising that BB9 will be airing dirty laundry starting February 12. Who knows what the secrets will be and how many players will have them, but that promises to be very interesting. Also not known is how many players will know each other beforehand, whether just two, the whole cast, or none. Allison Grodner has promised that one of the secrets won’t be having an America’s Player, as everyone will be expecting it this time, so it wouldn’t work out as well as it did last season with Eric.
It all makes for an exciting season to look forward to for Big Brother 9, with a new cast, a newly decorated house that hopefully won’t have another giant teacup, and everyone running around with dirty little secrets. And it all starts in just under a month.

Ohhhh I can’t wait, and I am one of those that gave up Max and switched to Showtime and have not yet cancelled. I hope early on I connect with a fav again, I don’t know how anyone will top Dick though.

Well can hardly wait. Hope it is better even than last time. I have enjoyed the show so much, and the people. Really enjoyed the Dick and Danielle competition. Glad to know there are some older folks out there who enjoy this show also. Hugs gg in Texas

Secrets? What kind of secrets can they possibly have? I am shocked every time that I start watching. I think, “I won’t be as addicted this time.” I am always wrong. It just pulls you in. Soooo what do you think the secrets will be? Cheerleader uses fake pom poms? Gay guy likes men? Ex drug user will have a child and not be married to the babies daddy. Wonder if there is something about each that they will have to keep from the other HG’s and there will be some sort of competition where they guess. Who knows… but we will soon. Yipee!!!!!!

There are millions of Big Brother fans that love “Evil Dick” and I am one of those millions, he was one of the best BB houseguests that I personally have ever watched, he made the show worth watching and to all the so-called righteous fans out there that says different, and have a hard time dealing with the cuss words, his tattoos, etc. then they are watching the wrong shows, thats all part of life, there is lots of Church shows on tv they can watch if they want to get away from the bad language, or just watch BB with their tv’s muted, but then they might see some nudity they don’t approve of……PITY, PITY!
Dick Donato was one of the BEST!!! I’d love to see him and Dani back anytime!
