Cycle Ten of America’s Next Top Model is Already Getting Viewers Excited
You may be asking yourself why there is there such excitement for cycle ten of America’s Next Top Model when the last cycle ended so recently. Are we that impatient? No. Let me suggest the reason is because last season was severely lacking in quality, and most of the people I’ve heard from were not fans of the winner. But do the ANTM fans give up? No. We pray for a better season, and that Tyra will have good hair.
And if she doesn’t, at least we’ll have fun mocking it.
Cycle ten starts on February 20th at 8 p.m. EST. It’s almost a month away, but I’ve already procured some information, if you don’t want to wait until then. I have no major spoilers. Of course, I do know who wins.
Okay, kidding about that.
Of the fourteen finalists: five of them have names that begin with A, only four have a ‘teen’ at the end of their age, and four are from New York. Speaking of New York, the show will be set back in NYC, as it was for the first four seasons. The other seasons mainly took place in that dear ol’ city of angels, Los Angeles. NYC is more of a hub of fashion, so this is a smart move. Even though I can’t imagine the taxes for the ANTM luxury apartment are exactly cheaper.
There are pictures of up the finalists on cwtv.com, so we can pick our favorite girls based on their looks (totally superficial, but this is a modeling show) and the poses that come naturally to them. Just be warned, by two episodes in, one will have confessed to having a
secret Tyra shrine in her closet back at home, and the other will be jumping naked into the pool.
Well, that first thing probably won’t happen, but in this age of reality TV, the second thing is practically tame.
Based on their faces, my favorites are: Katarzyna (pictured left), Claire, Fatima and Allison.
In the picture we see of Dominique she looks so much older than she is. I can’t wait to see how that translates on camera. And I’m bitterly anticipating who will be told to chop their locks off by Tyra. I think they ask some girls to do that every season just to cause drama, not because it’s in the best interest of a contestant.
But that’s reality TV for you. In reality, and on TV, stylists and executives want to make people look their best. But when you merge reality with TV, manipulation is often a handy tool to get the dramatic episode clips you want.
Until next time,
