Giants upset Patriots in Suber Bowl XLII

First let me give my congratulations to the New York Giants.  Most of the world had picked against them, and through a performance full of gritz and gutt’s they managed to shock the sporting world in their win over the New England Patriots Yesterday night.  While I don’t like the fact you won (after all I was rooting for the Pats) I have to give it to you.  You won the game fair and square and beat a team who many considered much better than yours.  So congratulations New York Giants, you won the Super Bowl.

I suppose I could go through this game play by play and point out all the injustices against the Patriots.  However not only would this be annoyingly tedious, it wouldn’t change the game either.  Besides, I know it wasn’t bad penalties that lost the game for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.  They got outplayed, plain and simple.  They did play one heck of a game, but in the end the giants wanted the win more, and they got it.

However despite the win, this was a game that could of just as easily gone the other way.  The Patriots played with serious guts.  There offense was under seige the entire game with the Giants blitz scheme being strongly successful.  Everyone said that the key to beating the patriots was getting to Tom Brady, and the giants did just that.  Watching the game it was obvious from the start that Tom Brady would land on the ground several times during the game.  After all it often seemed as though the offensive line of the patriots had just decided to stay home in Boston.  Despite the pressure however, the New England patriots did manage to move the ball on occasion and scored two touchdowns.  Now if only they had taken the field goal in the first half instead of going for it on fourth and fifteen.  The game could of easily been much different.

Oh well no use crying over what happened.  The Giants won the Super Bowl and are the new world champions.  Now there is nothing left to do except watch the Pro Bowl and then wait until the next season begins.
