Watching the Oscars is for Suckers

I am going to talk about the Oscars, why I didn’t watch the Oscars, and then about how much I love Jimmy Kimmel when he’s with Ben Affleck. You ready?!

Okay, first some Oscar news. The song Falling Slowly from the movie Once won for best original song at the 2008 Oscar’s. It is sung by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova.

I think this entire movie had gorgeous music and I love to listen to the soundtrack. Ironically, someone posted something on IMDB with the subject title that “Falling Slowly unfortunately won’t beat a Disney song for the Oscar” - how wrong they were. Although, it may have been close. I honestly haven’t seen Enchanted so I don’t know. I plan to see it, eventually. I actually really like Amy Adams.

I would talk more about the Oscars but I’d rather talk about roller skating. Well, also , I didn’t see too much of them. I have some very important advice for you. You don’t have to watch the Oscars. Don’t feel compelled! Post-Oscar specials are so the way to go. Seriously. Award shows are way too long these days for me to sit through them. So these shows are the best. They recap them, and way more fun than what the new will do for you. It’s not that I don’t respect the Oscars, it’s just that I had very important otherness to do.Jimmy Kimmel is on TV right now doing his show. Jimmy is pointing something out that is relevant to the Oscars. (This is my phrasing, which is oh-so witty) What do Miley Cyrus and John Travlota have in common? They both slipped at the podium. Ha! Wait, I think I’ll blame that ‘joke’ on Jimmy. Geez, do some real comedy, man!

Okay, Jimmy Kimmel is way too hilarious, I have to go watch this in peace! When you can get Robin Williams (as well as Cameron Diaz, Harrison Ford, Josh Groban and Lace Bass - etc!) to help you sing about how you effed Ben Affleck, then I’m pretty damn impressed.

EDIT: Jimmy and Ben watched Lost together! Yea! Ben is hilarious. I somehow always forget this. And I have to do a shout out to my friend, Mykhal, because he reminds me of Ben Affleck in all the best ways. I wrote about the Jimmy/Ben song here.
