Silverman/Kimmel War Wages on using Damon and Affleck

I was dumbstruck to hear my friend Eric hadn’t seen the video of Jimmy Kimmel singing with Ben Affleck. The video boasts a bevy of other A-list stars. It was made in retaliation for a video Jimmy’s girlfriend, Sarah Silverman, performed alongside Matt Damon. If you don’t know what I’m talking about - don’t worry, you’ll soon know. If you do already know, I’ll be exploring the situation a bit more! Let’s ZOOM in. *Zoom*

Fact!: Sarah Silverman (controversial comedian) dates Jimmy Kimmel, who has a late-night talk show aka Jimmy Kimmel Live! I don’t watch this show a lot, mostly because Conan O’Brien promised me a box of Lucky Charms if I am loyal to his late-night show, and his show alone. But I don’t even like cereal, so… Conan is going to have to sweeten that deal.

I am sadly forced to assume other people don’t know about this video because they have to do boring things like work in offices all day - they still are trapped in a bubble of confusion and maybe only just found out that Britney Spears is having issues that make Paris Hilton look Saintly. Well, I am here to help you lost souls.

Fact!: On January 31st, 2008 Sarah was on the show and debuted a video she made for the fifth anniversary of the show. Jimmy could not appreciate this video gift, though. Possibly because it was called I’m f*$^@ing Matt Damon. It featured Matt Damon, singing alongside Sarah. Sarah has a great voice, which makes it funnier when she sings really awful things. Matt, well, his voice is not so great, but he tries!

Here is the video. Please be advised that while it was on TV and is all bleeped - it was on late at night, so don’t play this one for the kids during snack time.

Fact!: Matt Damon was the perfect person for the role because Jimmy Kimmel always mocks Matt Damon by saying at the end of his shows “Sorry Matt Damon, we ran out of time.” It’s an ongoing joke. But Jimmy couldn’t NOT retaliate to Sarah and Matt’s video. He had to be manly. So he, “Went into [ his ] cave to plot.”

Fact!: On the post-Oscar show Jimmy had on February 24th, 2008, Ben Affleck was the first guest. I blogged about it almost as it was happening, cause I’m awesome like that. Jimmy debuted his very own video for Sarah.

The video is called I’m F*$^@ing Ben Affleck. I have obtained a secret YouTube copy of the video, which is to say, this video is all over that site and it as totally easy to find. Enjoy!

Because Jimmy can’t sing that well, and because he had to one up Sarah and Matt - he enlisted a bevy of stars to help him with his video. We’re talking about A-list stars: Brad Pitt, Harrison Ford, Cameron Diaz, Robin Williams, Joan Jett, Macy Gray, Don Cheadle, Pete Wentz, Perry Farrell, Benji and Joel Madden, Lance Bass, Huey Lewis, Josh Groban, McLovin (does he have a real name - I dunno), Christina Applegate, Rebecca Romijn, and Dominic Monaghan, Meatloaf and possibly more.

I love that they get together and sing about this with a choir behind them, singing so passionately! It was great. Watch it five times.
