America’s Next Top Model Tackles the Three C’s

Cycle ten of America’s Next Top Model brought us an episode last night with cat fighting (Whitney, Dominique - tsk, tsk!), posing battles in Brooklyn, and Benny Ninja! The three C’s are outlined below.

America's Next Top Model, Cycle ten

Last night was another crazy episode of America’s Next Top Model for Cycle Ten. I’m glad that this cycle I actually like a couple of the girls. (Lauren and Claire.) The show was devoted largely to the drama aspect of Whitney vs. Dominique. There is no clear winner, yet. Give them time, they’ll pull hair until someone goes bald.

Although Whitney does seem can deal with drama, I think she also maybe encourages it a little. Kudos to her for when she handled it very well when Stacy-Ann said to her, “I don’t want to get fat like you.” Um, wtf? Whitney is not fat, she’s curvier than the other girls and she is the ‘plus-sized’ model. It’s pretty rude to say that to someone, especially if you’re going to be living with them (watch out, man - you might find your facial lotion mixed with Tabasco sauce).

There is more to say about Whitney, because she had made a phone list so every girl could use the phone fairly. (I’m not sure if ‘fair‘ is in all of their vocabulary, though.) It is still unclear to me if Whitney really did go in an tell every girl about this or just some. But it seems like she did tell them all. However, Dominique missed her time and got very mad. So, maybe Dominique flaked and then got mad at herself - projecting onto Whitney. That’s just a theory.

Whitney and Dominique got into a fight, naturally. Whitney told Dominique,”I have no reason to respect you.” Dominique then called her racist. So, typical stuff for the ANTM house by now.

Lauren tried to interject some reason into this. She said, “When does this conversation end? There is no significance to it.” That was very true. So, no one listened to her.

In the episode the girls met with Benny Ninja and International Supermodel (as we were told like 5 times) Vendela. They instructed the girls on how to pose for the three C’s: commercial, catalog, and couture. Dominique posed well, but then you hear her speak (sooooo cocky) and you’re like ‘nooo, do not want!’ Or, at least that’s how I was.

The challenge later on was a dance-off in Brooklyn. Wait, I mean a pose-off! They battled with poses. That has got to be the lamest thing to battle with/about. Where were the swords?!

There were two teams - creativley named team A and team B. They were told the winners would get to go to the swag tent (which means lots of free stuff) and the best of the group would get a special prize. (Her sanity returned? No, not yet!)

So, they battled! With Lauren vs. Marvita - Lauren did amazing! Marvita did pretty poorly. Anya went against Stacy-Ann and she (Anya) was doing fierce poses on the ground like a tiger. Stacy-Ann decided to copy her. However, I don’t know if anyone noticed anything but how weird Stacy-Ann’s hair looks. And by weird I mean bad. It just looks bad!

When it came time for Fatima and Whitney, Fatima kept edging towards Whitney until she was ON her. I have no clue if this was on purpose. Maybe Fatima was lonely.

In the end, Team B won. And the winner of that team was Claire. She won a trip to Bora Bora! I’m a fan of any place or thing where they repeat the name. Like Sushi Sushi! Here, here!

For their photo shoots they had neon hued paint squirted on them, and they posed. Shocking, I know! Dominique showed she’s a contender and can model. Claire was good, as always. Fatima struggled because of over-thinking. Marvita also struggled. I think I got a Diet Coke around this time. Yawn.

At panel, the judges were blown away by Fatima’s picture because she did not/does not shave her armpits. She said she thought they’d retouch it. Then she was told how much retouching costs. It seems a little weird they didn’t say anything on set about this - they could have had her shave then and there. But they probably thought that would have eliminated good drama for the show. Sneaky, sneaky.

Stacy-Ann was called first, then Dominique, and Claire. The last two girls were Whitney and Marvita. Both of them were appropriately wearing black. Tyra told both of the girls they didn’t want it bad enough. (To want it bad enough you have to cry way more in front of Tyra!) In the end, Whitney stayed and Marvita was sent packing. *Shrug*

Whitney looked a lot like Reese Witherspoon at panel. But I don’t know if I like her, she seems to be…I don’t know. Drama surrounds her and I don’t think it’s just coincidence.
