Sesame Street Nostalgia (Have Fun and Waste Some Time to Watch Some Classic Clips)

As a child of the 80’s I sometimes found nothing better than sitting in front of the TV to eat my favorite lunch of PB&J with milk and pretzels while watching Sesame Street. Life at that age is stressful, so you have to find ways to relax, you know. (I’m smirking.) I may be 25 now, but I don’t love (classic) Sesame Street any less. Get ready to be nostalgic with me. Some of my favorite parts of the show were the mesmerizing (read: crazy) animations. Spend ten minutes to reminisce!
The Ladybug Picnic - Never have ladybugs looked so cute. These images are memorable, I can recall them so perfectly. It’s kinda weird to remember things so vividly. Maybe I have supernatural powers?
The Alligator King - I never understood why an Alligator had a mustache, but I always thought the king looked cute. I wanted to hug him.
Pinball Number Count - The Pointer Sisters’ sang this, apparently. All I know is that it was so flashy and creepy that I could never look away. That still holds true.
Fairy Alphabet - This easily could have been boring, but I dutifully watched it and learned my alphabet.
The Carrot - I don’t know why this was crucial information for kids. I think I would keep watching this, afraid the woman from the animation would jump out and eat me. She had CRAZY eyes.
Typewriter Guy ‘ X for X-Ray’ - I remember this guy so well. He always looked British to me.
Okay, these last two are not animations but — I remember (and loved) these sooo well. This first one is the Splish Splash song with elephants bathing, and I can never not think of elephants when I hear this song.
Would you believe I’ve googled for this next piece before, and never found it? I believe I found one person who mentioned it somewhere, but I never thought to check good ol’ YouTube. This piece combines two of my all-time favorite things from when I was little. And you know what? I still love these two things: kittens and dollhouses. Kittens IN dollhouses are really just the best thing ever. So, I present to you: Two Little Girls in a Little Dollhouse!
I wonder where those two little girls are now. Maybe they’re on MySpace?
