The Plastic Polygamist: Amanda Seyfried
Color me uber pleased to see the talented and fantastical Amanda Seyfried on Elle.com today. I first saw her as the mischievous and very much deceased Lilly Kane on Veronica Mars. She had been the best friend of the title character, played by Kristen Bell. Never before had I ever been so wrapped up in a character that technically wasn’t in the cast. Then again, she was. In her own special way. And Lily’s presence lived on through the three seasons of the show. The show couldn’t have happened without her death, and yet I truly wish she could have been on the show more.
The other TV show I know her from is HBO’s Big Love. I never would have thought I’d like a show with the premise of polygamy, and yet it’s compelling and entertaining – so I’m a fan.
Seyfried’s also been in some movies you may have seen: Mean Girls (are there any teen girls out there who didn’t see this?), Alpha Dog, (and the upcoming) Mamma Mia!
Oh, and my subject title? In Mean Girls she was a ‘plastic’ aka one of the most popular girls, and the rest I already explained. Although, just to clarify – Seyfried’s character isn’t so much a polygamist as her parents are.
