The Gossip Girl Cast Attended the CW Network Upfronts and Leighton Meester Wore a Giant Oven Mitt

Why, hello there - I’d greet you with a double kiss on each cheek since I’m so outrageously French these days, but we don’t want to miss the action. *Ushers you to your seats, a booming voice is then heard* And there they are! It’s some of the cast of The CW’s addictive TV show Gossip Girl! Only, I heard addictions were BAD, so I stay away - mostly. I once took a sacred vow…but it involves haunted carnivals and I just can’t get emotional right now… but I also made another vow. And that was that even if I don’t care about a show (or movie) I must always care about the fashion! That’s what’s really important. Not the writing, acting, or ratings. Just what the actresses wear to events like The CW’s upfronts in Manhatten.

Here we see two starlets: Blake Lively and Leighton Meester. There are rumors these two hate each other (I didn’t start them, honest). I have no clue. So either they’re both really happy for the success of the show, and to have made such nice friends in Hollywood…. Or Blake’s pinching Leighton’s hand while Leighton is jabbing Blake in the back. Are those happy smiles, or strained winces? You decide.

AND FOR THE PIECE D’RESISTANCE…

I realize that from this angle you can’t really tell that this purse isn’t just a purse. It’s a hand purse. Or a giant unattached pocket that she has decided to keep her hand in, for no reason. You need to listen to me - her hand is inside that pouch! You can see a better angle here. Ten bucks says Leighton got her hand stuck in this thing and she didn’t realize all she had to do was let go to get her hand out. I mean…just…WHY? Why would anyone want to wear a purple pot holder on their hand? Maybe if their hand is deformed in some way, or if they’re really cold…but otherwise, it shouldn’t happen. Everything else about her ensemble is great, but I feel like the pot holder negates it all!

Leighton, I like genuinely you - so please, no more of that. Ironically, I just wrote about some purses that she could have opted for instead. Well, no, a clutch is best. But since she might need some guidance for other events, I hope she finds that link!
