Joss Whedon Makes Me Giddy and I am Not Ashamed (Dr. Horrible PLAN + Matt Rousch Weighs in on Whedon)
Let’s say you could make a list of five people, living or dead, you’d like to have lunch with. Or dinner - if they’ll spring for the tip. That’s a hard list to think of making. But I’m sure of one person that would be on my list: Joss Whedon. Needless to say, when he does something, I’m interested.
This isn’t so say that I’m interested if he picks his nose or plays a good game of croquet. I’m interested in his projects. The Fox TV show Dollhouse is coming along (with Eliza Dushku and Amy Acker) and I’m already feeling like a diehard fan from what I’ve seen. Whedon always impresses me (with tiny, tiny exceptions), so I’m in a state of anticipatory excitement about Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Seriously, I think I’m shaking! Is this vertigo? Hm. I’ll call a Dr. of my own, while you check out all of this info on Dr. Horrible!
The official Dr. Horrible site is a must-see. From there you can access the Dr. Horrible MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter. Pay special attention to THE PLAN. If you miss out, and start crying, it will only be your own sadface fault! You have been warned.
Digg away, my fiends, and friends, and friendly fiends! Here!!! Should I namedrop in the process? Joss Whedon (of course), Felicia Day (a former potential on Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Nathan Fillion (Firefly - also, I kept typing Nation Fillion, haha), Jed Whedon, Zack Whedon aaaaaaaaand Neil Patrick Harris (arguably the best character on How I Met Your Mother). Welcome Neil, to our Whedonverse / Jossverse! (Did Alyson Hannigan of Buffy fame introduce you guys? Did you shake hands? Were your hands sweaty? Are you typically a sweaty guy? Wait. Don’t tell me that! Let’s keep this serious. So…what were you wearing?)
Don’t miss THIS piece by Matt Roush of TVguide.com.
If you want to miss out on the witty Joss Banter and really just want the nitty gritty (you are totally lame, but here):
ONE WEEK ONLY! AN INTERNET MINISERIES EVENT!
“Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” will be streamed, LIVE (that part’s not true), FREE (sadly, that part is) right on Drhorrible.com, in mid-July. Specifically:
ACT ONE (Wheee!) will go up Tuesday July 15th.
ACT TWO (OMG!) will go up Thursday July 17th.
ACT THREE (Denouement!) will go up Saturday July 19th.
All acts will stay up until midnight Sunday July 20th. Then they will vanish into the night, like a phantom (but not THE Phantom – that’s still playing. Like, everywhere.)

Joss Whedon is on my Top 5 lunch list, too! Thanks for the update

If I had dinner with him he’d be dead before the first course. More than anything else, I hate people that create wonderful shows, then abandon them to hacks -.-
I am also convinced he’s got his head up his ass now and he’s utterly lost the plot. Brian read his X-Men stint, as did Ted (who also read BtVS) and both of them despaired almost as much as I did as I sat through the crapfest that was Firefly. I expect nothing good from Dollhouse and am not in the least bit interested in this Dr. Horrible thing. Joss loves getting his ass kissed too much and running around pretending he’s a woman to take him in the least bit seriously anymore. Sorry.
I don’t mean to be quite so negative Jess - I just am still raw over his treatment of Buffy and Angel and I do honestly believe he’s lost it.

I left my comment on the lj feed, but I don’t want to ignore this one. Mostly, I want to nod and respect your right to an opinion while disagreeing. And I encourage you to feel more open to Dollhouse. < 3 to you and Joss and everyone!

I am so incredibly happy about this. Looking forward to DHSAB and Dollhouse both! The podcast Joss’d (http://www.jossd.com) recently had an awesome interview with Felicia Day, where she talked about Dr. Horrible & her own webseries, The Guild. (and omg Jess you HAVE to go watch! http://www.watchtheguild.com I think is the link.) Joss has also said that Dr. Horrible will be available for paid download shortly after the 20th, and will come out on dvd by the end of the year.

Jebbica - Awesome
Alison - I responded but now it’s not showing, but I also responded to the LJ syndication so I will consider it done and just hug you again. *hugs*
Crystal - That is awesome news
I want to tell Felicia Day that I like her hair long like this. Haha!

I have the honor of being able to see all of Dr. Horrible tonight, and I can’t wait!
I’m convinced there’s a Jossverse/HIMYM work exchange program. So many people from Joss shows’ have been on HIMYM.

Vlada - It is so exciting that you got to view it already. I’m heading over to your site in just a moment to check out what you wrote.
I was watching some season 7 of BTVS yesterday (been sick, I hate being sick!) and in ‘Him’ I saw the part where Willow (Aly is now on HIMY with Neil Patrick Harris for anyone reading this and doesn’t know) talks about posting Dougie Houser fanfic! Haha. I know what you mean, Morena, Alexis…even Tom Lenk was in an episode for HIMYM!
Okay, it’s early so I hope I make sense!

I counted 6 folks! Morena, Alexis, Tom, Amy Acker, The Mayor and, of course, Alyson.
I did ask Joss and Neil if there was a work exchange program.

Ohh, that’s right
And omg…what did they say? Hahah. (Wowww, omg, ahhh.) This is my calm face. Really! Joss needs a cameo on HIMYM!

A joking yeah. Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are big fans of Buffy.

Hehe. Awww
I love people who are fans of Buffy. Playing on the term Gaydar, I wish I had Buffydar so I could spot fans whenever I’m out and about. I’m sure they are all around me but unless they’re wearing a button that says, ‘I’m a Buffy Fan, ask me how (to become one)’ then I don’t necessarily notice. For shame!
