Giveaway! Monk and Psych Prizes For You

Thanks to USA Network and Electric Artists I am able to give you guys a chance to win some fun prizes from Monkand Psych. Since we’re talking about those shows, you can also read what I’ve recently written about Monk and Psych regarding their season premieres which are this Friday night.

While you’re here, sit down and have a cookie! I very much want to encourage you to look around the blog. I did a Wacky Self-Interview today that will give you some insight on who I am and what I watch. It will also show you that I’m a human who is hopefully relatable, with flaws that you can laugh at (hey – I don’t mind). So that might help you decide if you’d like to subscribe. And I’ve love for you to do that!

  1. Made me smile – This week I took pictures of a few of my days. I would stop every few seconds to take pictures of me brushing my teeth, or random buildings that interested me. Some people would stare at me like a weirdo, but I loved it.

  2. I left my brother happy birthday messages on facebook, through email, instant messages, text messages, etc. to make up for the fact that I couldn’t be there.

  3. I got my writing desk clean up :) *Thanks* for the giveaway!

  4. This week I went on a walk with a new friend on our city canal. I’m usually the one to wear out easily but I stuck with it despite my hurting legs and am glad I did. I now have wonderful memories and pictures.

  5. I got my pet lizard to eat out of my hand. I caught a beetle and fed it to my pet spider, first time she’s ate in a week ( she won’t take the crickets, I dunno…? ). One of my nieces finally insulted me well after years of my coaching her. All these things made me smiiiile.

  6. What made me smile: I took a boatride with my family out to a little restaurant in Florida. On the way out we had a dolphin playing in the boat’s wake. I got a great picture of him surfacing with his dorsal fin up like a shark!

  7. I finally met one of my friends who came from Scotland to hang out! We’ve been friends for over ten years, but only online. One can never be too sure how meeting a person face to face will go, but we had a great time! Actually, a group of us friends went to a wedding, and most of us had never met. We all got along well! We went to Niagara Falls the day after, and rode on The Maid of the Mist, right up to the Falls. It was an amazing time with online friends! Unconventional, but it so made me smile!

  8. One thing that made me smile was plugging in a fan an using it. The air conditioning is out right now and it got up to 95 degrees yesterday–you can imagine my smiles of relief to have the fan blowing cool air on me all night long. :)

  9. Helped my baby niece take her first steps =)

  10. My husband and I bought tickets to see Weird Al in concert for us and our sons. That really made me smile!

  11. I went to see a stage production of my favorite musical, Evita, for the first time!

  12. I gave my boyfriend a free movie pass so he could see Hellboy II without me. He giggled like a school girl.

  13. I did a back handspring. All by myself. At almost 30.

  14. The one thing I’ve done this week that made me smile is taking time off for myself. I am a fulltime mother of three, online student and a work-a-holic on the computer. Yesterday I turned off the computer at a reasonable time, cooked dinner for my kids, put them to bed and dashed to the bath tub for some much needed relaxing. I stayed in the tub for about 3 hours and then went to bed myself. All of this made me smile because I’m not one that is lucky enough to do this for myself all the time. This morning I feel a hundred percent better and feel I could take on the day with stride.

Cool giveaway, thanks for making us think a little too (LOL). I can do this today.

  15. I got a little rubber lizard from work and left it on one of dinner’s serving spoons when I got home. It made my family laugh, so of course, I smiled!

  16. What made me smile: I threw my boyfriend who just turned 21! a surprise birthday party. And his reaction was simply priceless, he had no idea! He said he had a great time too! That definitely placed a wide grin upon my face! And we’re both excited for a brand new season of Psych!!

  17. Something that made me smile: I read a story that my friend wrote me. It was really nice :)

  18. I went to my mom’s house on her birthday and brought a Domino’s pizza and 2 slices of key lime pie for dessert. I didn’t want her to be alone that day even though we had had a family party two days earlier. My dad passed away just over 2 weeks ago and it’s still very, very difficult and will continue to be. It made me smile to see her reaction to her birthday meal and dessert. It was something she wouldn’t normally have and she really liked it. I love my mommy.

  19. I adopted two cats from the shelter. They were due to be put down because it is hard to adopt out older cats. I couldn’t let that happen.

I’m keeping one and giving the other to my daughter for her 17th birthday. It made me smile to make us all very happy.

  20. Smiles and laughter – The new deck chair broke with me on it while discussing Fat Tuesday with my mother.

  21. I used stickers and hazardous chemicals to make jewelry! The chemicals weren’t really that hazardous, though. It was epoxy resin. But it’s hazardous enough that you can’t mail it out of the country in liquid form. And I didn’t use my respirator if that makes it sound more dangerous. The resin was low odor and I was only using a little bit and I don’t really remember where I left it. But they turned out really nice.

  22. Rewatching the Psych commercial where Gus and Shawn sing Ebony & Ivory a couple of times has never failed to make me happy.

  23. The other night, I was feeling pretty down in the dumps… While talking with my friend over AIM, we started to watch “Short Circuit” together and made a running commentary over the Instant Message. Even though we are hundreds of miles away, I felt like she was the closest person to me at that moment and she made me laugh so much.

This was very precious and special to me, and definitely makes me smile every time I think back on it. :)

  24. What made me smile: I started school this Tuesday, and was really nervous about all my new 3D classes. Right before class, my boyfriend sent me a message saying “I love you, and good luck with your class!” It was enough to calm me down and prepare me for the upcoming week of new challenges. I’m still smiling!

  25. I keep in contact with a very special little girl who I met three years ago when I worked at a day care. She is turning six years old in two weeks.
Yesterday, I went shopping and selected brightly colored fabrics and ribbon to sew her a little tote bag and two of my favorite books from childhood (Judy Blume’s “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing” and Roald Dahl’s “Matilda”) to tuck inside the bag.

  26. I was the first person to wish my brother a happy 21st birthday. :)

  27. I picked up some litter that I found when I was on a walk, and disposed of it properly in a waste receptacle. Much like hugging a kitten, it was good for me, and it was good for the environment.

  28. One thing I did this week was sit down and have a two hour long talk with my little sister who is leaving for college next month.

  29. I took my baby to a party where she got to play with other kids, a rare thing indeed. she was so happy, it mase my heart swell!

  30. I got rid of half of my book collection that I haven’t read in years. And I feel ‘lighter’ thinking about it.

  31. I watched Monk! Hey, it is actually the truth. I am crazy about that show.

  32. I live in Arizona, and it rained here, fairly hard. And it was nice to see rain.

  33. I helped plant a garden in what used to be a big, ugly front yard! Also, I terrorized my cat with a cat toy!

    Two smiles is fine, yes?

  34. I got a new kitten this past week, on Monday. She has been such a delight, I have been playing with her and she is so sweet I can’t help but smile when I’m with her.

  35. My physical condition isn’t actually very good and I don’t like to exercise. It really made me smile and I was very proud of myself when I managed to cycle 50 kilometres (slightly over 30 miles) in just a two days! It really gave me much self confidence and made me smile for a long time.

  36. Well, one thing that’s made me smile pretty constantly this week is Act I of “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog,” which I’ve been watching – and smiling goofily at – since Monday. :)

  37. As I waited for my sister to be finished with her work, I got the creative juices flowing by redecorating my room. I found pictures in magazines, cut them out, and pretty much taped them wherever I could find room. After being intensely satisfied with myself, I also cleaned out my closet, where I found years old PowerPuff Girls stationary.

So of course I had to leave my sister a letter in her room with obnoxious pink stickers everywhere.
    Annoying? I don’t think so.
But it did make me smile.

  38. In my country, this week we had “Friends day”, so we all together went out and had a picnic. Awesome time.

  39. Oooh, I love Psych. Thanks for the contest.

On Tuesday I visited the animal shelter where we got our dog three years ago. We brought the shelter food, blankets, and toys for the animals. Seeing all the cute kitties up for adoption, and my dog running around in the front yard definitely made me smile.

  40. Last week I bought CDs to help me learn German. I first began listening to them yesterday, and even though it’s been a bit difficult, I’m enjoying it a lot.
It was completely done on a whim, and I’m glad I got the idea.

  41. This week I took my cousin out for her 8th birthday. We went and got ice cream and ate it at the beach. We watched the waves and looked at a light house. She has had a tough childhood so far, and it made me smile that she was now having a happy, fun-filled childhood like every kid should. I hope me and Marykate have more fun times like these.

  42. One thing I did that make me smile was finding two childhood friends on Facebook. It’s been years since I had contact with them. It felt great to find them and put a big smile on my face when they added me back on their friends list. Finding old friends equals happiness!

  43. Ironically, watching Monk made me smile. I hadn’t watched the show in two or three months (due to looking for employment), and saw the last episodes of season six by chance. I have been a detailer for six years and smiled brightly when I found out detailing was his ‘temp’ job for that episode. It really made my day.

  44. This week something I did that made me smile, was feed some baby raccoons marshmallows, oh they are so adorable!

  45. I helped a woman pick out a birthday card for her granddaughter. :D

  46. My kitty greeted me at the door when I came home from work and rubbed its head all over my feet :)

  47. I smile every day I wake up with my kitten sleeping in the crook of my neck. It makes me happy to be loved unconditionally.

  48. I had a pineapple shake at the county fair.

  49. My birthday was this week, so for it, I got to see a band I have loved for the past nine years AND meet the singer after the show. I got happy birthday wishes, hugs, photos and autographs. That definitely made me smile!

(The band was Alkaline Trio. And I <3 them)

    -aki

  50. I watched Dr. Horrible’s Singalong Blog and it made me smile. :)

  51. I had lunch with a friend I havent seen in a long time. That made me smile.

  52. I watched the movie Penelope with my best friend while eating pudding. It was the best two hours of the week hands down.

  53. I found an old pot today that I made a few years ago… out of fried chicken pieces all sewn together. It’s dried up and looking awesome now. I think I’ll try planting a flower in it.

  54. my boyriend calling me while completly drunk. He apologised profusely for something insignificant every five minutes or so :D

  55. I’ve had this writing block thing for a while now, and today I finally wrote something! Was it fantastic? Probably not, but it was written! Hell yes, I was smiling.

  56. this week my boyfriend and i adopted a 5 year old aussie cattle dog mix from the shelter who had been abused. he is sick with kennel cough, but we’ve taken him to the vet and he’s on his way to recovery. everyday he gets a little better and that has definitely made me smile.

  57. I went down town with my roommate and we had ourselves some iced chai. It was one of those rare times we had a day free and could sit down and enjoy it. :)

  58. Watched So You Think You Can Dance! I love this show…it always makes me smile when they are dancing so wonderfully…but I hate Thrusdays because I hate to see them go. I could watch So You Think YOU Can Dance! every day!

  59. I smile all the time since I work at a hotel and we can get some of the nicest people staying there.

I smiled earlier this morning at 4am because some guests needed an extra room because it was storming outside and their dog was whining, keeping up the husband. The dog was so adorable, that I had to let the wife and dog stay in the extra room for free. So 1)being nice made me smile, 2)seeing such a cute dog made me smile, and 3)getting away with doing something I wasn’t supposed to made me smile (not sure if that’s good :P ).

  60. started using my prostetics for the first time
