Hayden Panettiere as a Paper Doll

Dear Hayden,

I really wish you hadn’t cut your hair, but you’re still ten shades of awesome. I mean it. But let’s talk fashion. The theme I have is: You Can Do Better Than That. Listen, your outfit here isn’t ugly or horrible or anything, but it isn’t the most flattering thing you’ve ever worn. You’re a young starlet! Don’t you want to dress for your age? You wear a lot of mature frocks, and one might speculate this is because you’re dating an older boy.

Well, he’s Milo Ventimiglia. Believe me, If I could steal him, I WOULD. But Milo isn’t going to think less of you if you dress differently. (He’s a nice guy, or so I heard from my neighbor’s best friend who dated this girl who saw Milo picking up a piece of trash on the street one time on New Years Eve. Of course, the girl was drunk and it could have been anyone, or even a very large raccoon… But I stand by my statement.)

In your recent campaign with Jessica Alba for Declare Yourself you were in a really cute shocking pink dress. It was more age appropriate, cute, and fun. The thing is that right after I saw the above picture of you, I saw the below picture…

Sharon Stone

You won’t get the full power of this dress unless you click to enlarge. It’s really kind of, um, ugly? (And that’s being generous.) But what occurs to me is that Sharon Stone is dressing more like I’d think YOU would, Hayden. Stone has a nice figure and your stylist deserves endless brownie points for not making you wear something ugly like that. BUT! You should wear something more along these TYPE OF lines. Am I making sense?

Since the leopard dress is icky, I decided to see what other dresses you would be cute in. Essentially, I made you into a paper doll. You may remember me doing that once with Mary-Kate Olsen (click the tag below to find that piece). And we had fun doing that. So here we go:

Ooohh, stunning, right? It is elegant and I kept it black since that’s the color of the original outfit.

My photoshopping skills, they amaze even me. Anyway, I’m glad we had this chat.

XOXO

Gossip Girl – er, I mean – Jessica

Dress pictures are from edressme.com / Tell me which is your favorite dress on Hayden! (Does it look better when I make the head stylized (last two pics) or when I leave it as is?)

  1. I like first hayden-doll outfit the best (though i’ve always loved blue on her…) and the stylizing of the last two pics is rather much. it doesn’t look much like her (more like Jessica alba I think).

and while the very first pic is a nice outfit, its definately not something a 18/19 year old would wear, too dark for one thing and the strap across the top is much. I like the center piece however.

  2. Hey Lexie! Thank you for your input. The regular Hayden ‘head’ does seem to look better than when I tried to make it look drawn. I will keep that in mind if I ever do another one of these.

The strap ‘across the top’ on the first and second outfit isn’t actually a strap – just a piece of the original Hayden photo that is still there. Oops!

  3. OMG! This post rocks…A friend of your’s saw Milo (or a raccoon?) that is so funny. I think she’s trying to dress older too for one of my pretend boyfriends. And your photo skills are sick girl.. :)

  4. This post was the best thing in my whole day. lol. I love it when you play paper dolls.

  5. LOL!!!!@ paper dolls. That’s awesome Jessica ^.^ I don’t even like Ms. Stuck Up – but this post made me giggle. WIN.

  6. Tay, Kerstin, Ali – Thanks :) I think I like HayPen in the last dress option the most. I still can’t believe she cut all her hair off! (Okay, not all of her hair, but so much.)

  7. oh no! I meant on her actual outfit. but hm…that link is pure evil! it makes me want clothing an unemployed college student like myself has no right to want.

  8. Lexie – Oooh, right, her actual outfit (duh @ me). I totally want to snip that right off. Ah, someone’s been bitten by the dress bug? Well, it never hurts to look and plan for a purchase! When I absolutley feel like buying something (but I must save my moola) I like to go to FredFlare.com and buy something small, fun and silly. :)
