Presidental Life Meets the Greek System…Sorta

After watching the latest episode of Greek (about a sorority presidential vote), and then watching the final Presidential Debate I couldn’t help but feel a strong pull towards one of the quotes from the ABC Family show.

Rebecca on Greek: “All you talked about was turnips and clarinets*. You played the politics perfectly. But great politicians are supposed to inspire people. Not just be better than the alternative.”

*Badmouthing the opponent for things in their past

It occurs to me that one of the opponents running for President does nothing but badmouth the other Senator. Convenient. Why bother standing up on your own platform (or even work on it) when you can spend time acting like a middle school girl and bashing the person opposing you.

Heroes’ Hayden Panettiere hates John McCain, too!:

“Hi, I’m Hayden Panettiere, and I’m hot enough that I know I have your attention for at least 30 seconds. There are three things I think all citizens should do: smoke cigarettes, vote for John McCain, and don’t wear a seat belt. A vote for McCain is a vote against change. He’ll keep tax breaks for the rich, start another war, and we’ll all probably die. He’s just like George Bush, except older and with a worse temper. Let’s vote for McCain and stay the course. Don’t switch horses midstream! Get an older horse that will take 12 years to cross that stream, ‘cause he’s old. John McCain, he’s had affairs with lobbyists, so you’ll get f–ed, and he’ll get f–ed. Everybody wins. Nobody f–s with John McCain!”
Oh Hayden, sometimes I love you. I really do.

  1. Hey!

    I was wondering if you would be interested in participating in an online Hulu Awards Ceremony.

    I run a Hulu fan site blog at http://thehulureview.blogspot.com/, and am assembling a panel of bloggers and internet luminaries to judge the top-quality Hulu offerings.

    If you join the panel, you will be asked to nominate Hulu clips, movies, and shows for awards in a variety of categories. Then, you’ll be asked to vote on a short list of nominees.

    Please either email me with subject line: Hulu Awards, or post a comment on my blog at this post: http://thehulureview.blogspot.com/2008/10/hulu-awards-ceremony.html

    In your response, please include your name and website (I’m contacting a slew of bloggers about this).

    Thanks for your time;

    The.Hulu.Man
