Hello, Sick People and Their Loved Ones (TV for Cynics)
Are you sensing from the subject title that I’m hyper? Guess what?!? I’m not. I’m exceedingly pissed-off! Which means I’m overwhelmingly not hyper. (See how that works?)
Now I’ll ask you another question. Is it bad if my role model of the moment is Doctor Gregory House? If you say anything as predictable and boring as ‘yes’, then I’ll just mock you. See? I’ve ALREADY transformed! So, I cannot be stopped.
People may not always like House. They may not always respect him. But they do fear him. And that’s really much better than those first two options. That’s how you can make them do what you say! > ; )
Transcription?! Yes. Oui. Here: (make it your away message and annoy everyone!)
“Hello, sick people and their loved ones! In the interest of saving time and avoiding a lot of boring chitchat later, I’m Doctor Gregory House; you can call me “Greg.” I’m one of three doctors staffing this clinic this morning. This ray of sunshine is Doctor Lisa Cuddy. Doctor Cuddy runs this whole hospital, so unfortunately she’s much too busy to deal with you. I am a bored… certified diagnostician with a double specialty of infectious disease and nephrology. I am also the only doctor currently employed at this hospital who is forced to be here against his will. But not to worry, because for most of you, this job could be done by a monkey with a bottle of Motrin. Speaking of which, if you’re particularly annoying, you may see me reach for this: this is Vicodin. It’s mine! You can’t have any! And no, I do not have a pain management problem, I have a pain problem… but who knows? Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m too stoned to tell. So, who wants me?” - Dr. Gregory House
The above may be the greatest quote to define House. I vote for it as best House quote everz!
You can watch full House M.D. episodes online at Fox.com. There’s no excuse for not watching, dudes. And there’s no real excuse for me saying ‘dudes’, but roll with it.
(Okay, I’d rather have respect AND be nice. Don’t tell Dr. House.)

While Heroes has been SUCKING, House has his own heroic-ish superpowers.

Machiavelli said it’s better to be feared than loved! Advice intended for Renaissance city-state rulers must be good for doctors, too.
Amazing acting and writing when they can make the audience love someone as prickly as House.

House is for sure one of the best shows ever made! You are right..but you usually are…

It’s very rare to have jerk characters audiences will loyally like, I think. Dean Winchester and Greg House make the book. And on the cover of the book is their picture, hugging.
Which yes, I photoshopped. MWAHHAHAHA. Oh, don’t tempt me… No, really, don’t. It would be hard to do.

You are right about Dean…I don’t think I would like a D*ck like that (other than loving Jensen since I was 17) but they have done a great job with making a jerky character loveable…
I AM SO TEMPTING YOU!!!

I love Hugh Laurie! I just wish his character would have his sexy accent. House did have to grow on me. At first I couldn’t get past his personality but now I love it!

Tay - can’t you just tempt me to eat chocolate? So much more fun.
Sexiness - oh, I do sooo love Laurie’s accent. If you haven’t read his book I highly recommend it.

In light of the post I just made about mean people I want to say something. I don’t even know how to explain this fully. It’s different because this is on TV, but mostly I think that for as much of a jerk House is (and sometimes Dean) they have their limits and lines they won’t cross. Even when House does something that is like …whoa!ass, often he has a redeeming moment that illuminates his methods.
