BIG (love) SECRETS : “Big Love” Returns to HBO this Sunday, Jan. 18th (Contest!)
“2008 was the year of secrets. With the fall of Eliot Spitzer, the recent Bernie Madoff scandal, and countless other skeletons emerging from the closet, it is clear that things aren’t always as they seem. The same can be said for HBO’s original hit series Big Love, which returns for its third season on January 18 at 9 p.m.”
The only truth is… Everyone Has Something to Hide.
The above phrase is the tagline for the third season of Big Love (a personal favorite show of mine!). To promote this in a creative fashion (memos are so passe!) HBO sent out 150 people throughout NY, LA, Philadelphia and Chicago sporting thought bubbles above their heads.
What kind of secrets did they silently tell strangers? Everything from “My wife thinks I’m straight”, to “I wasn’t born with this nose”. You never know what secrets everyday people on the street have to conceal. You don’t even know what secrets the people closest to you are harboring. What we have in common is that we are all hiding something. This couldn’t be more true for the characters on Big Love, as you can see on the Web of Secrets website HBO has put together.
Read and post secrets on the Twitter acccount for Big Love’s ‘Web of Secrets’.
Remember to tune into Big Love this Sunday, the 18th at 9 p.m. on HBO!
BIG LOVE CONTEST
And because you’re such big fans, and both I and the people at HBO know this, SofaChip is hosting a Big Love DVD Contest for seasons 1 and 2. One winner will win both seasons of Big Love on DVD. To enter, you must live in the USA (sorry, everyone else is cool but you just live too far away!) and leave a comment telling me who your favorite Big Love character is and (of course) why. Make sure you use the right e-mail address when you enter. You must be a subscriber to the SofaChip feed to enter – and this will be checked! So go on and subscribe!
The deadline is Friday, January 23rd. The winner will be e-mailed the next day and must reply within two days to accept and verify their address. You may only enter once per person!

my favorite character is nicki, because she’s so darn stubborn and determined to make her family work. plus, she has awesome hair and ran her car into a refridgerator.

My favorite character would have to be Sarah. So far we’ve only seen so much of her. At the beginning she seemed really accepting of the plural marriages, however, as time goes on we see her pulling farther and farther apart. I love to hate her too because I wish she would support the family, but I love her because she is so independent with a mind of her own. I really can’t wait to see what happens this season with Sarah because I feel like we may see an entirely new side of her, if not, then we will definitely see how far she takes it when it comes to leaving the family.

My favorite character is Heather, mainly because she’s played by the amazingly talented Tina Majorino. But the character entrances me and I love getting these little snippets of her character from time to time. Why is she drawn so much to Sarah and the Hendricksons? Will she ever turn on them? Is she ever not sweet, perky, and, well, Mormon?
Really, without the Tina factor, Heather ties with Sarah and Nikki and Rhonda and Adaleen and Wanda and Alby as favorites. The characters on this show are all awesome in their own ways.

My favorite character is Margene because she is relatable since I am young and I feel she doesn’t know when she’s making mistakes – just like how I feel.

My favorite character is Sarah. I’ve been a huge fan of Amanda Seyfried’s since she starred as Lily in Veronica Mars, and I adore Sarah/Heather.
