My Advance Review of The Closer ”Good Faith” & “Power of Attorney”
I have been lucky enough to view two episodes from the upcoming fifth season of TNT’s The Closer with Kyra Sedgwick. Everyone can start watching the new episodes on Monday, January 26th at 9 p.m. And after that? Then you have TNT’s new series Trust Me! (Another show that I highly recommend.)
Now, the tricky part is that the people who make The Closer naturally don’t want anyone (including moi) to willy-nilly give away spoilers. So you can ask me all you want, there are some things I just cannot tell you, or even hint at. I have to be careful, you see! I’m like…a spy with highly classified intel.
Is Brenda marrying Fritz? I…can’t tell you. Sorry! Is Detective Sanchez okay? I…can’t tell you. Sorry! Is Brenda’s cat around? The answer to that is yes! The cat appears in the season five premiere! And looking very cute, I must add. I love that they include the cat, because when a TV show introduces a pet and then never shows it again, well that’s just cruel! (And inconsistent!)
Guest stars this season will include Bill Burke (who plays Charlie Swan in Twilight, I’m told)as a lawyer, Frances Sternhagen (familiar to many from Sex and the City) and Barry Corbin as Brenda’s parents, and Amy Sedaris as Fritz’s psychic sister.
I previewed the episodes “Good Faith” and “Power of Attorney” (which airs February 9th). What I can tell you is that it’s entertaining to see Brenda so frazzled and conflicted about her dual lives as an LAPD Deputy Police Chief and a woman with a personal life. Brenda definitely has some serious struggling to go through this season.
Quick Episode Recaps: Good Faith deals with a shifty church and a suicide that isn’t what it seems. Did a murder occur or not? Power of Attorney deals with a sex offender and a sneaky lawyer.
