Do You Have these Incredible Soundtracks That Induce Happiness?

I am now very into the show Weeds (Mary-Louise Parker). I’m mentally kicking myself for not liking it sooner. One of the coolest things about the show is the mix of music on it. I highly recommend getting the two Weeds soundtracks to kick into gear with some ridiculously happy music.

Weeds Soundtrack Vol. 1 tracklisting includes:

1. Malvina Reynolds – “Little Boxes”
2. Nellie McKay – “David”
3. Peggy Lee – “A Doodlin’ Song”
4. Sufjan Stevens – “All The Trees Of The Field Will Clap Their Hands”
5. Michael Franti & Spearhead – “Ganja Babe”
6. All Too Much – “More Than A Friend”
7. Sons & Daughters – “Blood”
8. The New Pornographers – “The Laws Have Changed”
9. Joey Santiago – “Fake Purse”
10. NRBQ – “Wacky Tobacky”
11. Marion Black – “Who Knows”
12. Martin Creed – “I Can’t Move”
13. The Mountain Goats – “Cotton”
14. Joey Santiago – “Birthday Video”
15. Flogging Molly – “If I Ever Leave This World Alive”
16. The Be Good Tanyas – “The Littlest Birds”
17. Hill Of Beans -”Satan Lend Me A Dollar”

Weeds Soundtrack Vol. 2 tracklisting includes:

1. Elvis Costello – “Little Boxes”
2. Zerolean – “All Good”
3. Of Montreal – “Wraith Pinned To The Mist And Other Games”
9. Regina Spektor – “The Ghost of Corporate Future”
14. The 88 – “Not Enough”

Extra:

There was a song in ‘The Brick Dance‘ season two episode of Weeds (at the very end) that I LOVED and tracked down!

The Thermals – Here’s Your Future lyrics:

God reached his hand down from the sky
He flooded the land then he set it on fire
He said, “Fear me again. Know I’m your father.
Remember that no one can breathe underwater”

So bend your knees and bow your heads
Save your babies, here’s your future
Yeah, here’s your future

God reached his hand down from the sky
God asked Noah if he wanted to die
He said no sir
Oh, no, sir

God said here’s your future
It’s going to rain
So we’re packing our things
We’re building a boat
Where God will create the new master race
Cause we’re so pure
Oh, we’re so pure
So here’s your future

God told his son it’s time to come home
I promise you won’t have to die all alone
I need you to pay for the sins I create
His son said, “I will but Dad, I’m afriad”

Yeah, so here’s your future
Here’s your future
Yeah, here’s your future
So here’s your future
So here’s your future
So here’s your future

  1. Nice choice, I whole heartedly agree! You know what other show has a great soundtrack? Scrubs. What are some others? I’m trying to think…SATC had a good one, I found some great tracks from that show…

  2. ah, The Thermals. I love that song. I got SO excited when I saw that episode and it started playing. Same with “With Arms Outstretched” by Rilo Kiley at the end of the first episode…That’s actually the main reason I kept watching!
