Gossip Girl Spinoff Canceled! Surprised?
The Gossip Girl spinoff is DEAD - Woe?
Despite not being what you would call a ‘fan’ of The CW’s Gossip Girl, I was looking forward to the Gossip Girl spinoff. The show was set to star Brittany Snow as Lily Rhodes (aka Lily van der Woodsen Bass, Serena’s Mom) as she grew up in the 80’s and fell in (sweet puppy) love with Rufus Humphrey.
On Monday May 11th on Gossip Girl there will be a flashback (‘Valley Girls’) that gives a peek into this world of Lily Rhodes (featuring No Doubt). But sadly, that’s all there will be. And I’m seriously kinda-sorta-lamost bummed. This looked like such a fun show to pass the time with. Now that I’ve given up ANTM (America’s Next Top Model) I need something fun and mindless to watch.

i really liked the casting and i was looking foward to see what the mom did to owen and the baby w/rufus and how she met him

I watched the episode and I actually really liked the 80’s flashbacks. So I’m pretty sad about this. The casting was AWESOME.

I’m not a big Gossip Girl fan either, but I thought this spinoff idea was really clever. It was a chance to do something new with characters you already knew and Brittany Snow is adorable.
