The Best New Show We May Never Get to See: Body Politic on The CW (Jason Dohring, Minka Kelly, Jenny Wade, Gabrielle Union)
Why is it that The CW has picked up shows such as Vampire Diaries, Melrose Place, and The Beautiful Life, but they are so hesitant about the real winner – Body Politic? This causes me no end of grief! Not only does the show star Jason Dohring (Veronica Mars, Moonlight), but it also has Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Jay Hernandez, Gabrielle Union (Bring it On) and Jenny Wade (Reaper). Need more than that? Not only do I love the cast, but from what I’ve seen of the show – it looks highly watchable!
There is buzz for Body Politic, but it seems like the show might not ever see the light of day. Fans seem eager to see Minka Kelly and Jason Dohring on TV together. But there’s only one slot for a mid season replacement, and it might not go to this show!
Jenny Wade (who I suspect is the next IT girl) told Dameon’s TV, “Body Politic, the simplest way to describe it is that it’s kind of The West Wing but in a younger age bracket. So instead of seeing congressmen and presidents and senators, we’re kind of going into the world of the interns and the up and
coming, the college graduates that are just kind of getting into D.C. and trying to find their places…. The pilot was written so well. We’re all really excited about it.”Possibly the best write-up on Body Politic is from Eonline.com (read that link!). Writer Natalie Abrams outlines all of the known info on the characters and plots, what the chances of Body Politic getting picked up are, and why people will like the show – not to mention why we need a show like this on The CW.
I would like to heavily echo her last statement in the article: The very few clips we have posted below do not do the pilot justice; however, you can make a difference by passing on the word about The Body Politic and sounding off… Beg, plead, get angry! Show Dawn Ostroff that The Body Politic would be a great addition to the network.
Before you make up your mind, please take a few minutes to watch the Body Politic trailer. Remember how great The WB used to be with shows like Dawson’s Creek and Felicity? We need a show like that. Why does The CW only want to only revamp old shows like 90210? Eugh!
You can always e-mail feedback@CWTV.com to tell The CW you want to see Body Politic on your TV screens. Snail mail works considerably better, but after some Googling, I cannot find the address. Let me know if you know it and I’ll post it up here.
UPDATE: I came across Jenny Wade’s YouTube channel and as of a couple weeks ago she said that The CW seems uninterested in the show but they are shopping it to ABC and NBC.

Any show with Jason Dohring is a keeper ! Seriously the guy is so talented he can not do wrong. So go NBC or ABC to pick up this freaking show (it’s too good for CW that’s for sure) the audience is already here !!

I agree, I’m a big fan of the actor Jason Dohring – he’s very talented!
But I’m also a big fan of Jenny Wade, Minka Kelly…this cast is amazing. Some of us are thinking that TNT might be the perfect home for this show. What do you think? Wanna get on the bandwagon? Let me know! Fans can help make things happen, and if networks and producers and all those people see we’re enthusiastic, it certainly can’t hurt. And this is a show I’m really prepared to root for and support. So many teen/young-adult shows are full of very little substance.

I don’t know if you know but there is already a petition via the net for a pick up by a network.
But i have to admit i am not a huge fan of Minka Kelly acting (but i love FNL), for me she was not the better actor in this good cast.
I would prefer for Jason Dohring to have his own show (it’s his turn now) and above all to see him in movies face to great actors, he has the potential to be a movie star.
But i support Body politic anyway ; the premise is interesting, the dynamic between the actors works and Jason Dohring is a bonus i admit.

Do you know where the petition is? I’ve heard a lot of buzz about trying to get this show on TNT – which seems like a perfect home for it. I’m waiting to hear back to see if TNT might be interested.
I’m a Jason Dohring fan, as well, but it’s not just because of him that I want to see this show. It’s the entire dynamic, the different characters, the writing – etc. But yes – Dohring is a great bonus because I think he’s a fantastic actor! I’d love to see him back on TV.

I speak about NBC and ABC before because i heard they could be interested for a mid-season pick up. If people want this show they have to email these networks to express their interest. But i agree with you TNT would be the perfect network for this show, we will see, let’s hope we will watch this show next year ! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/browse-petitions/overview is the adress for the petition or you can find it via Google blog.
