FX is going to be having plenty of good holiday TV to watch this December. Movies include Live Free or Die Hard, Deck the Halls, Spider-Man 3, Firehouse, and Night at the Musem.

Live Free or Die Hard premieres Tuesday, December 1st at 7pm e/p

John McClane stops cyber terrorists? Sure, I guess that’s a plot. I’ve never seen this movie but with a cast that includes not just Bruce Willis but also Justin Long and Timothy Olyphant, I feel kinda compelled to watch.

Deck the Halls premieres Thursday, December 3rd at 8:00pm e/p

Danny DeVito, Matthew Broderick, Kristin Davis and Kristin Chenoweth start in this movie which I’ve never heard of. It involves neighbors competing over Christmas decoratings. And maybe aliens.

Spider-Man 3 premieres Thursday, December 10th at 7:00pm e/p

Spiders, goblins and a Sandman – oh my!? Toby Maguire, Kirstin Dunst, James Franco and Thomas Haden Church are in this blockbuster movie.

Firehouse premieres Saturday, December 19th at 3:30pm e/p

A firehouse adopts a lost dog who turns out to be Rexxx – a famous Hollywood dog. The dog and a young kid help make the firehouse better. These are exactly the kinds of holiday memories I have.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS MARATHON airs on Saturday, December 19th from 12:30pm – 3:30pm

FX will be airing Christmas episodes from shows like The Bernie Mac Show, Malcolm in the Middle and That ‘70s Show.

Night at The Museum CHRISTMAS EVE/CHRISTMAS DAY MARATHON airs on Thursday, December 24th from 6:30pm to 2:00am e/p and Friday, December 25th from 7:00am to 7:30pm

You’ll have eight chances to watch Night at the Museum. If you miss all of those chances, then I’m guessing you really don’t care about seeing this movie.

The new HBO series Bored to Death has already won me over just three episodes into my private viewing, which is pretty amazing since I don’t easily fall in love – I have trust issues! But I trust this show; I’d even give it a key to my place. The lovable oddball half-hour comedy features Jason Schwartzman as Jonathan Ames, who is a Brooklyn writer trying to deal with a rough breakup. Olivia Thirlby plays Suzanne, the stable and well-intentioned ex-girlfriend who has broken up with Ames because he “smokes too much pot and drinks too much white wine”. Because of Ames’ unhappiness with the breakup and his life, he (who is a noted mystery novel enthusiast) begins posing as a private detective who advertises on Craigslist (people post crazy things, but does it ever go that far?). What the astute viewer will realize is that as he tackles his cases to feel like the hands-on hero he longs to be, he is ultimately using his strong writing gifts for observation and insight. This doesn’t mean he can get his second novel started, of course. That would be too easy. Writer’s block lives strong! As does laziness.

The always-familiar Ted Danson plays George Christopher, “a high-profile magazine editor” who Jonathan works for occasionally. He is considerably fun to watch because he’s so ridiculously clingy and bluntly eccentric (he is really excited about the idea of getting a colonic). One of Ames’ best friends is the bumbling and cynical comic book illustrator Ray Hueston (lifted right out of a Judd Apatow movie – very possibly), played by Zach Galifianakis. Heather Burns (who you’ll very possibly remember as Sandra Bullock’s innocent pageant friend in Miss Congeniality) plays Hueston’s controlling girlfriend. Even the guest stars for this show are incredible: including Kristen Wiig, Parker Posey, and Oliver Platt.

I feel this show may initially be linked to cult movie High Fidelity. Yes, Bored to Death does open up with a painful breakup that involves a heartsick young man with low ambitions. He has a decent heart, and in my notes I referred to him as ‘pathetically charming – therefore sympathetic and likable’. So there’s that. And yes, the show has oodles of terrific Indie music and distinctive characters – but Bored to Death has a different agenda than High Fidelity. I’m not entirely sure what the agenda is, but I know it definitely feels different. Which is enough for me to call this original!

In fact, when I first heard about this new HBO series I worried it was going to be like another show on the air right now – Castle (Nathan Fillion). I’ve hardly seen any of Castle (shame on me, I know), but I think they’re wildly different shows. It’s like the difference between High School Musical and Juno. I’m not sure about you, but I’ve never given my attention to that High School Musical nonsense, and I’ve seen Juno at least three times.

Bored to Death will have eight episodes for its initial season, and it begins on Sunday, September 20th at 9:30-10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The first two episodes focus on Ames’ new side project as a private detective, but the third episode proves this show isn’t a one trick Maltese Falcon.

P.S. Answering the question before it’s even asked! “What is the Bored to Death themesong?” Answer: The Bored To Death Theme Song is Performed by Coconut Records, Written by Jason Schwartzman and Jonathan Ames.

Quotes from Bored to Death “Stockholm Syndrome” and “The Alanon Case”

“Therapists are heroic, they’re the superheroes of listening.”

“I want to be the only child in a woman’s life.”

“…Death by one-thousand bad conversations.”

“I’m not going to change. I’m just going to pretend to change. I can’t change – that’s impossible!”

“Do you purposefully try to depress me every time we see each other?”

“God, it’s like I’m surrounded by Holocaust deniers! It happened! I’m sure!”

“You know, my therapists aren’t helping me at all!”

“When I’m with her I’m going to eat vegan, but when I’m not with her I’m going to eat like an American.”

The CW has four new series that have been added to their lineup this fall. I was lucky enough to get an advance view of these, and now I’m here to share my studious thoughts on what you can look forward to. I just hope you like glamor, drama, and super (I mean, just ridiculously) attractive people! Anywhere, here are my thoughts for you. I’ve listed the shows in opposite order of what I enjoyed the most (oooh, the anticipation!).

<img class="size-medium wp-image-3244" title="MELROSE PLACE" src="http://www.sofachip.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/katie-cassidy-300x199.jpg" alt="Katie Cassidy as Ella Photo Caption: Michael Desmond/The CW © 2009 The CW Network, LLC.
Melrose Place (MP): Like many of you, I never watched an episode of the original Melrose Place. So I wasn’t sure what to expect other than a group of people who lived in the same apartment complex. Which they do. For the longtime fans, you won’t be disappointed as there is at least one familiar face for you. For me the standout characters are ‘power bitch’ Ella Simms played by Katie Cassidy (Supernatural, Harper’s Island) and ‘lovable geek’ Jonah Miller played by Michael Randy (Greek, Swingtown). It’s not entirely relevant but Randy looks a LOT like Zachary Levi (Chuck) to me, which is just weird. But good-weird. I mean, Levi is more than just passably attractive. The thing I really noticed about the pilot episode? It leaves you wanting more. No, it wasn’t my favorite of the pilot’s. But I think lots of you will like it. Like all of these shows, I will definitely watch the second episode. (Of course, that IS what I do – TV is everything! And sometimes water or air, those things are important too…I guess.)

Melrose Place premieres Tuesday, September 8 at 9:00 p.m.

The Beautiful Life (TBL): If you are a fan of America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) I would almost guarantee that you’ll like this show about the inside world of modeling. The fashion alone may be worth the watch. Mischa Barton (The O.C.) stars as Sonja Stone, and surprised me by looking really amazing as a brunette. Is it just me, or does Sara Paxton as Raina Marinelli look a lot like Barton? I suspect that may be on purpose. The show already has credible fashion links, as Zac Posen is in the first episode. Oh! I was so pleased to see feisty Ashley Madekwe from Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the first episode!

The Beautiful Life premieres Wednesday, September 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

The Vampire Diaries (VD): Be prepared for legions of fans to drudge up Twilight similarities, but ignore them. This is a more than decent show, and with Kevin Williamson (Dawson’s Creek) at the helm I feel pretty safe. I mean, we KNOW he can write awesome love triangles (Dawson/Joey/Pacey!). Seriously though, the writing does shine through with wit – and sounds like real teenagers. I like that this is a show based in a cool little town as opposed to a sunny beach one. Luckily, mysterious vampires and equally mysteriously-appearing fog (one of the cheesier elements the show used) don’t work so well in sunny L.A. I think that Nina Dobrev as Elena is a rising star in her own right, but I can’t help but notice she reminds me of Amber Tamblyn with a dash of Sophia Bush and even some early Katie Holmes! Hopefully Dobrev has no plans to uh, go the Holmes Scientology route. Did Williamson have say in the casting? Paul Wesley as Stefan (the obvious love choice – the soul mate) looks like James Van Der Beek to me. I guess that means we can skip right to the chase and assume that we’ll like Elena with Pacey – I mean, Ian Somerhalder’s character, Damon. That’s who I’d pick. Anyway, Kevin Williamson on The CW feels like a homecoming since he played such a huge role in making the WB amazing. (Read more about this show via The TV Chick, I love her thoughts on it.)

Vampire Diaries premieres Thursday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m. followed by the season premiere of Supernatural. Talk about a match made in heaven – I mean, hell?

Life UneXpected - The CW

Life UneXpected (LU, LX?): I expect this will be my favorite new series on The CW. Shiri Appleby has certainly done things since Roswell, but seeing her on the The CW just feels right (again, because it’s what the WB was)! Kerr Smith (a Dawson’s Creek alum) is also back with us. Kristoffer Polaha shares the spotlight on this show, and while I looked at all of the projects he’s done I noticed he was actually once on Roswell! There’s a real problem here, though. Because I really like both of the love interests for Appleby’s character! Normally I can gravitate towards one right away, why do they both have to be so great? This show is about love, although the most important dynamic/relationship is the one explored through young teen, Lux, and her birth parents (Appleby and Polaha). If you only have time to check out one new show this fall, I highly recommend this one. And it looks like I’m not the only one who likes Life UneXpected.

Extra: Let’s just all worship Zooey Deschanel, cool? You down with that? I am.

As a young 20-something woman I’ve grown up with some very heroic role models in the media that I happily let permeate my reality. It’s actually frighteningly easy for me to forget that my Mom’s generation didn’t have this same blessing. While I had the fierce Buffy Summers and the brilliant Sydney Bristow, she had ‘cute’ beach bunny Gidget. Well, Gidget’s a pretty girl, but I’m just not very certain how much respect she commands. From what I’ve heard and personally observed – it’s been a consistent uphill struggle to let women actresses and female characters have a more powerful and substantial presence in movies and TV. But it’s being done!

The continually blossoming cable network, TNT, is a source of shows with intelligent and independent female characters like Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick) on The Closer, and Nurse Christina Hawthorne (Jada Pinkett Smith) on HawthoRNe. But of course, we could never forget about Holly Hunter as the tenacious, wild-haired Oklahoma City Police Detective, Grace Hanadarko, in Saving Grace. When it comes to powerful female characters on TV, Grace has got my vote (I’d even help her make campaign posters with puffy paint).

Holly Hunter as Grace. Photo by Jeff Reidel

The recipient of a prestigious Oscar, actress Holly Hunter has earned two Emmy nominations for her spirited work in the role as Hanadarko. Not only does Hunter portray Grace on the screen, Hunter also works behind the scenes as an executive producer for the show. If that doesn’t convince you of Hunter’s tireless work ethic, consider the fact that Saving Grace has been on the air since 2007. That’s a lot of committed, long hours of work. Believe me, I know it’s hard to believe that actors don’t always have it so easy, but if you watch behind the scenes features for TV shows on DVD you’ll see how unglamorous it can be. There’s no doubt that a lot of acting jobs seem pretty great, but the kind of dedication you see by people like Hunter makes a world of difference to the final product.

Fans have really been enjoying what Saving Grace has had to offer this summer. The ratings indicate that Saving Grace has averaged over 3.5 million viewers this summer. I may not be an expert when it comes to numbers (even if I wear my uber professional glasses), but I know those numbers are damn good. The current season will wrap up with its season finale on Tuesday, August 2009 at 10 p.m. Make sure you have plenty of popcorn, okay?

It has been announced that the next season of Saving Grace will be the final one. It will include a total of nine episodes. I know, I know – that doesn’t seem like enough! We want more, because we’re greedy! But I do have faith that the Saving Grace team will send our girl Grace off by delivering the same distinctive caliber of TV they always do. As for who the next new powerhouse woman on TV might be – that’s anyone’s guess. The important fact is that I’m certain there will be more of them. So we thank you, Grace, for contributing to – well, you’d just think this is cheesy. But we still thank you anyway. We’re hooked till the end.

If ever this was time to support a Veronica Mars movie, it’s now. We all miss our dear Neptune Pirates, and the people attached to the series (i.e. Rob Thomas & Kristen Bell) have openly said they’re on board for a movie. So what’s the holdup? Well, on the most basic level – it’s that Warner Bros (who’d be in charge of green lighting the movie) say they don’t think there’s support or “enthusiasm” for a Veronica Mars movie. Yikes!

However, it would appear that they are epically wrong. Several fans (including many people who’ve discovered the show since the unjust 2007 series cancellation from The CW) are desperately hoping that there will be a Veronica Mars movie. All it takes is a quick look for #veronicamars and veronica mars on Twitter to see that there are fans all around the globe who are lending their continual support and adoration for the show.

There is a long-running, concentrated, group effort by Veronica Mars fans called Neptune Rising. They’re not the only group of people who want the Veronica Mars movie, but they’re a powerful and dedicated one that has my personal respect. I recently spoke with three members of the group to find out everything from how you can support a Veronica Mars movie, why the movie would be such a stellar idea, and why it’s never too late to start watching this show. More than that, we got into the rising Veronica Mars presence online, the substantially important Veronica/Keith dynamic, season three’s polarizing affect on viewers, and the sincere attraction of the show from both genders and almost all ages.

<img class="size-medium wp-image-3104" title="blues treat to the eye with vivid colors" src="http://www.sofachip.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/blues-treat-to-the-eye-with-vivid-colors-300x253.png" alt="The photo collages used in this piece are by the LiveJournal.com user padme_370. They are grouped together by some of the most prevalent color schemes used in the show which make watching Veronica Mars such a visual treat.

Who runs the Neptune Rising campaign, and when did the group begin?

M (Mark): Neptune Rising officially started on June 17, 2007 after VM was canceled. Four of us on the CW forums put our heads together and came up with the idea for Neptune Rising. We have Chapters in North America, Europe, Africa, Australia and we are working on getting one started in South America. We all believe in the brilliance of Veronica Mars

Does just any TV show that goes off the air deserve to become a movie? What makes Veronica Mars the exception?

J: I would say no, but these days, it sure seems like a lot of them are getting the green light. They’re making a MacGruber (SNL sketch) movie, for frak’s sake! Everything is fair game, apparently– from board games to tv shows to remakes upon remakes… CLUE is being remade, and I can’t imagine that movie without that entire cast (Madeline Kahn, RIP). They’re also remaking one of my childhood favorites, Adventures in Babysitting, apparently with Raven Symone–it just makes my drop seeing some of the movies that get produced these days. Veronica Mars being what it is (quality! intriguing! smart! funny! thrilling!), and the fact that everyone involved in the show seems to be on board, I’d say it deserves a fair shot at getting out of the gate.

Any idea how many people are out there who support a Veronica Mars movie?

M: To be honest I have a hard time telling, we have about 7,000 members on our various sites and we hear from a lot of people that support our efforts and everyone wants the movie but I don’t know what Warner Brothers requires to be able to greenlight the movie.

Do you feel there is renewed fan interest in the project ever since we’ve received word that Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell are on board for the movie? If so, how can you tell?

M: I do think there is more renewed interest, the internet was buzzing when word first came out that there might be a movie and everyone was very excited.

J: The night that Kristen was posting (on Twitter) about how she wants the movie, it became a trending topic within an hour. It was a wild frenzy of tweets and re-tweets… and the buzz just keeps on rolling. People are still interested, and that’s getting more people interested. There’s this whole digital-grassroots thing going, and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. The fans are rabid, really.

With Kristen Bell’s star shining brighter and brighter, and Veronica Mars having gotten more fans of the years, why do you think Warner Bros doesn’t want to make the movie?

J: Well, of course, there’s the economy right now… but even that doesn’t work as an excuse. People are still going to the movies, maybe now more than in recent years. Maybe it’s knowing that Serenity (the Firefly movie) didn’t do so well on the big screen… who knows. Kristen Bell says WB told her and Rob there wasn’t any “enthusiasm”–so I guess we’ve just got to put on our Neptune Pirates uniforms and keep cheering for the show. As I mentioned earlier, considering some of the movies that DO get green lights, it seems absurd to not give Veronica Mars a chance.

It’s a modern age, and though we don’t want to be slackers – we do want to take advantage of our new technology. Does tweeting for the cause help at all? Who should fans tweet, what should they say, and do you have a Twitter account we can follow for news?

J: Neptune Rising’s twitter account is @NeptuneRising, and Kristen Bell’s is @IMKristenBell. We’ve bombarded several of the Warner Brothers Twitter accounts with Veronica messages, and Warner Brothers Pictures (@wbpictures) responded: “Thanks for all of your Veronica Mars support! We would LOVE to see a movie, but it’s not up to us here. We’ll pass along ur messages though!” So who knows exactly how those messages will be routed, but that’s the brilliance of Twitter. If WB is perusing the internets for “enthusiasm”, searching for Veronica Mars or #VeronicaMars will bring on countless results that they’ll be able to glance at. We’re putting it out there for WB to see, for the cast/crew to see, for friends to see, for strangers to see— and it just keeps on rolling. Talking about it (or tweeting about it) will get others to do the same, and that’s what we want. In this day and age, we all have our presence online, and we can use it to say HEY! WE WANT A VERONICA MARS MOVIE! (Editors Note: Tweet @Warner_Bros & @WarnerBrosEnt and tell them you want a Veronica Mars movie!)

Why do you think a Veronica Mars movie is such a good idea?

M: Because it’s a great show with a great cast. There have been a lot more people introduced to it since it was first canceled, plus it would make a lot of fans happy.

J: Um…because I want to see it! Maybe it’s selfish, but I know I’m not alone in that. I don’t even know how many times I’ve watched the entire series, and I just want to see it keep going… especially with the series finale (final 2 episodes of season 3), it just winds right back up for more and more to unfold. It’s really fascinating, and there are so many layers to these characters. The writing is brilliant, the design (visually) is phenomenal. Everything from the colors to the lighting is just stunning, keeping with a modern detective noir look–the style of it is very engaging. These characters have stories that still need to be told, and I’m pretty sure that I’d go see the movie in theaters at least 10 times, and then I’d watch it another 100+ times on DVD.

Some fans were vocal about not enjoying the third season as much as the previous two. What would you say to these fans as to why they should still support a chance for a movie?

M: I became a fan of the show in the third season and that made me go out and buy the first two seasons. Season one and two were very good but season three still had a lot going for it. What I would say to the fans though is season three had CW executives trying to tweak it and I think a movie would be left up to Rob Thomas who created the show.

J: Ah, yes, season three…. I know a lot of people didn’t like it as much as the first two seasons, but I really dig it for a number of reasons. #1, Veronica goes to college! There are so many more places the stories can go when you take the characters to higher education. #2, New characters. It’s always nice to meet new people and make new friends… or sometimes, new enemies! They explore deeper and darker themes… for instance, the prisoner/guard study is a heck of a lot more interesting than an egg drop for a school project. Plus, it makes Veronica an even stronger role model because she’s pursuing higher education. Plus, Hearst is bigger, darker, more interesting than Neptune High. #3, The new opening titles. More sophisticated, more noir…it’s just groovy. #4, Ed Begley, Jr! Laura San Giacomo! Rider Strong! Chris Lowell! #5, More mystery. Sure, there’s not 1 large season-long mystery, but they do all tie together, and it’s still interesting. I can’t really compare the seasons on a better-or-worse scale, as I love them all, and they’re ALL pretty fracking great.

To possible new fans: Why is Veronica Mars such a good show? Is it ever too late to get on board?

M: It’s never to late, I’m 44 and my parents are in their 60’s and loved the show. I’ve heard from people from their teens all the way to their 70’s, who wanted us to make sure they got more VM. I think the problem was that VM was marketed as a teen show which was a mistake because that kept a lot of people from discovering it sooner…

J: It’s never too late! Just make sure you start from the very beginning of the series so you can follow everything. It’s not a show where you just watch a random episode here or there… it’s a story that you become a part of, and every chapter is pretty important.

What is the best way for Veronica Mars fans so show their support for the movie? Who do they write to? Can individual letters really make an impact?

M: The best way anyone can help is to help out campaigning. Don’t think that as long as someone else is doing something that you’re not needed and wouldn’t make a difference. Each and every fan does make a difference! When we finally succeed it will be because of the fans banding together and showing Warner Brothers that have the numbers and want to be heard.

J: Well, we’re still waiting to hear back from Kristen Bell as to who exactly we need to write letters to at WB. We’ve been sending letters to Jeff Robinov at Warner Brothers, but if anyone knows of someone else to write, we’re totally game. Until then, we’ll keep talking about it and spreading the word throughout the social networks (Twitter, MySpace, Facebook), message boards, and of course, our friends!

(Editors Note: Make sure to sign the Veronica Mars movie petition that Ausiello started.)

Is there a time when you’ll stop running this campaign?

J: Maybe if Veronica Mars gets picked up as a renewed series or as a movie… though I imagine the community will still exist even if that DOES happen, because we’ll be celebrating! So, I suppose the answer is that Neptune is Rising indefinitely!

What pair of characters provides the best dynamic on the show, in your opinion?

J: This is a loaded question, for sure! Probably Veronica and her father, Keith. Their dynamic is playful and sharp, and their bond is very strong. After all the turmoil they’ve been through, they’re still there for each other, no matter what. It’s also worth noting the strength of this relationship as a single-parent family, because that’s not always presented in a positive light, especially with a father. Gilmore Girls did a great job of it, but they didn’t go as deep and dark as the Mars family did.

Is there any reason to think that Veronica Mars is a show only targeted for females?

J: No way! There’s something for EVERYONE in Veronica Mars. It’s dark, it’s funny, it’s soapy, it’s romantic, there’s action… and the snark! OH, the snark! Plus, it’s got the whole underdog thing going, and for anyone who’s been through high school, hell, anyone who’s been through LIFE can relate to some of the stuff that happens on this show. One scene in particular that stands out in my mind is from the episode “Hot Dogs” – this awkward loner girl, Mandy, loses her dog and seeks Veronica’s help. When Mandy is being made fun of by some meatheads at school, Veronica steps right up and chews their asses. Immediately after, Mandy says “I can’t believe you did that,” and Veronica responds, “I can’t believe that you didn’t! If you want people to leave you alone, or better yet, treat you with respect, demand it. Make them.” It’s advice that anyone, male or female, can stand to hear.

And although I think Veronica Mars appeals to both genders and all ages, I do think that it’s very important to have a strong role model like Veronica for females, specifically young women, to have. That’s one reason I was SO upset when Veronica was canceled, because the CW picked up “Pussycat Dolls Present” and “Farmer Wants a Wife”– totally throwing out this strong female character who has been through some serious shit, and replacing her with scantily clad snobs fighting to be the next MTV pole dancer. (No offense, Pussycat Dolls… but…really.) You know, not to trash talk other (obviously) female-targeted programming, but of everything I’ve seen, Veronica takes the cake. Though she may be flawed, she’s a strong, smart, driven person that anyone can look up to in some way. You can’t help but root for her.

Can you tell me a little bit about Operation Mars Attacks?

Jackie: The Operation Mars Attacks campaign was about six weeks long, and every week or week and a half we’d send out a package to the WB. All of the packages contained movie tickets and movie posters. The rest of the contents are as follows:

I recently had a chance to chat with Christian Kane who plays Eliot Spencer on TNT’s Leverage. Kane is warm-hearted, completely sweet and having the time of his life playing Eliot, designing women’s lingerie (with a sophisticated approach he feels stores like Victoria’s Secret are missing), and cooking. When we talked, he’d recently gotten seventeen stitches taken out of his forehead, which is the price you pay when you do all of your own stunts. In fact, during our call he started going over himself and counting the scars he’s amassed during his acting career and the count was approximately five (although he actually has more from non-acting gigs). Christian Kane is moving through life and positive about the future. From where I stand, he has no reason to feel otherwise.

Jessica Rae: In The Tap-Out Job trailer, we see Eliot being a pro and showing Sophie about wrestling, using Hardison and Parker as sort of puppets. Was there a lot of laughter going on when you guys were trying to film that because you look really straight-faced? Tell us about that.

Christian Kane: So much it was ridiculous, man. It really was ridiculous. I mean we were just – we laughed the whole scene. I mean it was – it was – it was – you’re never going to see… They should – they should get the behind-the-scenes stuff that’s never in because the stuff we do is just like unbelievable. We’re always cracking up. And it was really hard to shoot that scene. I think it actually put us behind on the day because we were laughing so hard and because you know Aldis kept doing these, like, juke and you know Muhammad Ali moves and stuff like that. And I was – and I had to wait to tell Parker to hit him because I was, like, I had to wait for him to settle down because you know I choreographed this whole thing with Beth.

And I choreograph a lot of the fights, and so this was – this was one that I was in on. And I was, like – I was, like, “Beth you know you can’t hit him, so you’ve got to hit him you know by the face because obviously we’re not really punching people. But he kept moving so much that I was, like, “You’ve got to wait, you’ve got to wait,” and so then, I’m, like, “Now, now punch him.” And it was – it was just really, really funny. And Tim pretends not to watch, but Tim was watching the whole time, and we were – we were cracking up. It’s a really funny scene.

Jessica Rae: Yes, I think fans are really going to enjoy seeing that play out the whole way. Do you have another favorite scene from the episode “The Tap Out Job”?

Photos by Erik Heinila

Christian Kane: Yes, I have a really good – I have a – you know one of my favorite and Dean Devlin has gone – has gone on record in saying that his ((inaudible)) probably his favorite of – you know of the season. At the very end when I’m talking to Gina, and Gina you know is from England and you know she’s a tough girl.

Jessica Rae: Yes.

Christian Kane: But she doesn’t understand the mentality of a fighter, and when she walks up to the ring and she’s talking to me and she doesn’t understand why I’m doing this and it’s really not for personal gratification. It’s just because you know Eliot has to fight. And there’s a really, really close, close moment there with me and Gina which you’ve never seen before because we don’t have that much stuff together that I absolutely love. And it’s probably when I’m in the ring and she comes in towards the end and says, “You know you don’t need to do this,” it may be – it’s probably my favorite scene of the whole – of the whole – this far of the entire show.

Jessica Rae: Oh, that’s powerful. And do you hope something happens with Eliot’s love life in season two? Maybe we’ll see Aimee?

Christian Kane: You know I think that – I think that Eliot’s a little bit you know – Eliot was – doesn’t have a heart, and the only way he really does is because Nate’s given him one now because he’s helping people. So, I think that I don’t know to be honest with you. I wouldn’t mind seeing something that. I don’t know if it’ll work for the character. It would be – it would have to be something that John Rogers would have to write because it’s very, very tricky. Tricky to deal with Eliot being you know – he thinks he’s 007 and you know it’s – you know there’s a lot of girls and stuff like that. But it would be very interesting to see. I would love to see it. It’s just – it’s – it’s such a tricky, tricky thing to write you know because then he actually has to start caring about something and I think that you know that’s the worst thing in the world is if he starts you know thinking with his heart instead of his fists. He could find himself in trouble.

Make sure to tune into Leverage on Wednesdays at 9:00 Eastern Standard Time on TNT. The episode that airs next Wednesday (July 22nd) is also the day that Kane’s single will be released.

I bet Kristen Bell doesn’t realize how happy her fans are that she’s twittering now. More than that, tonight she’s tweeting about the possible (INEVITABLE?!) Veronica Mars movie.

Kristen Bell Twitter Account – it’s legit, dudes!

Here are tweets that Kristen Bell made tonight in regards to the Veronica Mars movie possibility:

VM movie fans- rob and i took it to WB- and they said “there is no enthusiasm” to make it so fans have to convince WB! rob and i r in!

ok i have been asked to ask you guys to say #veronicamars so it can go in the hot topics part? i think i understand this- wanna do it?

#1 you guys all rule. my guess would be the best rout is anywhere warner brothers asks 4 feedback- you guys write we want the VM movie.

ive told em i want to so bad- i think they dont think it will make any money so they want to be sure people will see it. big business. ugh.

i think letters to warner brother will help. its the film side i think thats different than the WB tv side.

not sure who you guys write at warner bros to but i will try to find out! lets GET ER DONE!

@theguiltyones id do the film if i ended up w/ the only copy & noone saw it- id do dvd- but i think VM deserves some props in the theatre.

ok, ive got a 6 am flight tomorrow so im gonna hit the hay. nite all u lil spider monkeys!

What can you do to help make Veronica Mars a movie?

TWEET! People can Tweet about wanting a Veronica Mars movie to @wbpictures @Warner_Bros @WarnerBrosEnt- Dooo it!

You can find me on twitter whenever you like. Tell me dirty jokes! Or just send links to cat macros. I’m down for whatever.

E-mail! I’ve found this feedback form on the Warner Bros site, it might be worth a moment to send some feedback about wanting the movie? We need to let them know that people WILL go see the movie, and it WILL make them money. And it will give us tooons of enjoyment, to boot. And a role model like Veronica Mars simply doesn’t get written into reality as often as she should. Seriously. We need her back.

Write Snail Mail! The real place to write seems to be the two addresses posted here: write to Warner Bros. There are also faux movie tickets you can print out and enclose, which I highly suggest you do. Real, hand-written letters mean more than e-mails. So take a moment and write one, if not more! Get your friends together for a Veronica Mars marathon and you can all write them while you get your fix of Veronica, Logan, Wallace, Mac, Weevil – and everyone else.

On Monday July 13th, 2009 the Nurse Jackie episode Tiny Bubbles will air on Showtime. The show has been renewed for a second season, already. I hope you guys haven’t been missing episodes!

Zoey (Merrit Wever) is adorable and I love any scene she’s in with O’Hara (Eve Best) or Jackie (Edie Falco). The last episode of Nurse Jackie had that really cute episode where Zooey and O’Hara went out to eat and I thought they could never top that. But this episode? I swear to you, it does. It kills me with the unbearable cuteness of being.

I really like when they focused on Zoey and the quirky, well-intentioned ways she over analyzes things that are going on at the hospital. She wants to be respected, and liked, and do a good job – and I’m sure I’d feel the same in those nurse shoes. Hopefully I’d be less awkward than her, though.

What’s more, the task in this episode that Zoey has extreme confusion over participating in happens to be one that I would struggle with, too. Life and death are tricky things, or… maybe they’re essentially simple? But I’d bet on tricky.

I think life is tricky. And maybe we should all just meditate and feel more at peace. Maybe… we should feel this is easy. But then would we ever feel anything? Is there really another way to live? Don’t look at me for these answers. But I’m pretty sure the only ’should’ to listen to is the one that say’s you shouldn’t live your life by ’shoulds’.

For those who find themselves wondering – the song featured at the end of this episode (Tiny Bubbles) is: Patty Griffin – When It Don’t Come Easy

The third episode of Weeds season 5 is Su-Su-Sucio. Cesar is sick of Nancy. So she has to forfeit Cesar for Sucio, the new ‘goon’. It seems to me that Nancy is getting used to having a constant companion, though. It’s becoming routine. In fact, Nancy seems to feel that Sucio is the only one in her corner at times. Which, is comical to watch! It’s like he’s part of the family!

Celia is making herself a little too comfortable down in Mexico. Her natural leadership personality comes out, whether she’s running a PTA meeting in suburbia, or you know – a rebel camp. But will her efforts be appreciated?

Andy finally meets Esteban, and well – I really love their interaction. I don’t want to spoil too much for you guys, though. I’ll just dance around, teasing you, until you get to see the episode.

Jill (Jennifer Jason Leigh) arrives to drop Shane off back in Ren Mar. She decides to then stick around for a tiny bit. This stress can’t be good for expectant mother, Nancy. But Jill/Andy/Nancy is fun to watch. So maybe she could just take some Xanax? Or can you not take that when you’re pregnant?

Silas has a new idea, and has decided to partner with Doug for the venture. Can you say “Medical Marijuana Dispensary”? Well, I hope you can also say “Extortion!”

Quotes from Su-Su-Sucio:

“He is comfortable with his man-smell.”

“Exciting. Ransom note.”

“Come on! Obama’s president!”

“I waited until you came. Be grateful.”

“Don’t start with the fucking Korean’s bullshit, bullshit, and more bullshit!”

“Welcome to my pregnancy.”

“Sorry, but I would fucking love to be you.”

“Maybe it’s all the rough sex I’ve been having?”

“I’m thirsty. And afraid to drink the water.”

Misc. Notes to conclude my advance Su-Su-Sucio review:

- One character mentions Etsy! As in Etsy.com, the best website ever for handmade jewelry.

- Home Depot is apparently not a good place to meet guys. I’ll note this! See, I would have thought it’d be a good place to meet guys who can fix stuff – being all manly with muscles! But maybe I’m thinking too much about this…

- Two characters want to start a ‘pot club’.

- No sign of Alanis Morissette yet!

- Sister’s fight. The Price sisters are no exception.
