How do you make freckled lemonade? I can’t lie, It’s surprisingly hard to make! You have to have A) Lemonade (hahaha, I typed lameonade at first), B) Frozen strawberries, C) Ice in moderation. Mix and serve. Ahhh - that’s the sound of

being refreshed. I decided to make my own tonight while watching Weeds season 2 on my Netflix ‘Instant Watch’.

I’m all about Weeds now - it’s one of my favorite shows of the moment. When I saw some of Zooey Deschanel on the show, I just didn’t care that I haven’t seen the show before (unless you count five minutes of one of the first episodes). I loved her character! Again, I didn’t care that she was a guest star or that I’d only seen a few moments of the character. My heart was taken!

So, I’m watching the Zooey episodes of Weeds right now, and then I’ll go and watch season one properly. Going in reverse for some shows doesn’t bug me as much as with others. *Helpless shrug*

Zooey recently attended the premiere for her movie (with some random dude named Jim Carrey) Yes Man and she wore a low-key version of when Bjork wore a swan. I love this outfit.

Deschanel told Jay Leno that she laughed so hard during the premiere in L.A. that she split the dress (the white one) up the back - oops!

She called Carrey ‘very energetic’ which is code for ‘batshit crazy’. He arrived at the premiere in a giant hamster wheel? Yea, that’s…well, I’d imagine that it takes a lot of energy.

The Yes Man movie actually looks pretty good and I want to see it at the movie theater, which is not a place I’m that fond of. They do have good popcorn, though. So that’s a PRO. And they have dippin’ dots. And twizzlers… Yea - I tend to stay away because they have so much candy it makes me crazy I kid, I kid.

The truth is that I really hate getting stuck in a bad movie (You Me and Dupree, anyone?) but I also hate to leave a movie since I’m cheap and also want (read: NEED)  to know how things end. It’s just a lame situation that I tend to keep myself out of unless I BELIEVE In the movie. (I will be seeing Scream 4 in theaters even though I don’t think I believe in it. And yea - have you guys heard of this yet?!)

Time for some randomness…

For fans of Diablo Cody, Amanda Seyfried, Kyle Gallner, Megan Fox (why?), Amy Sedaris or Adam Brody - did you know you can already reserve your copy of the movie Jennifer’s Body on Netflix? Yup! I did that today, I feel very accomplished. The movie is still yet to reach theaters, but oh well!

Princess Unicorn Saves the Day!

The star of The Office last night was none other than Princess Unicorn! Combing Barbies + Princesses + Unicorns is the most excellent hybrid of favorite things for little girls. All that is missing is a mermaid tail attachment!

Lucky for us, there’s a Princess Unicorn Website with photos, testimonials, and a very intersting poem. There’s even quotes from some familar names!

Kelly Kapur told the site, “I wish I was Princess Unicorn’ and she probably wasn’t joking. And Dwight K. Schrute is also a fan: “Proficiently made. Girls and effeminate boys tend to have a strong affinity for it. For all your Unicorn Princess and paper needs, call Dunder Mifflin Scranton, and ask for Dwight K. Schrute!” He sounds like a great guy!

What year did you start the Livejournal community Milo_fans?

I started it 7th of May 2007. And hey, it’s been one whole year now! Aawww, I wish I’d caught that, I could of made a 1 year anniversary post.

Yes, most definitely my favourite actor. David Duchovny used to be my favourite, and I never thought I’d ever find an actor in my lifetime that I like more than David, but then I watched Heroes and David was pushed to second place. Other actors that I like besides Milo and David are Tony Leung, Cathrine Zeta Jones, and a lot of other actors.

Heroes, after that I chased up all the other shows and movies he’s been in. The Apple iBook advert surprised me, because I remembered that advert from years back (I’m a Mac person, I notice that sort of stuff).

I thought Speedway Junky was depressing. Other than that I can’t think of anything I’ve disliked.

Peter Petrelli in Heroes, what got my attention besides the fact that he was a real cutie, was Peter’s earnestness. And there was a classic ‘Hero on a mission’ thing going on in a Super Hero setting (my favourite genre) that happens to be a favourite theme of mine.

Thankfully, everyone on the community has shown nothing but support in reference to the couple. As for surfing the web, it’s mixed. There a lot of people who love it that they are together, and a lot who have mature attitudes about the age differences and understand it something based on the individuals themselves. And then there are the people with intolerant and juvenile attitudes, though loud, I think they are out numbered. Plus their comments just reflect back on themselves.

I’ve never seen the short film Intelligence, and this is something I really want to see! And of course Pathology, which has not been released in Australia. The only thing preventing me from seeing them is access. If there is anything that is available, I do not hesitate to trot down to my local DVD store, or Amazon.com.

The other day, not so much a tabloid rumour, but a title to online tabloid article:

Milo actually says a lot of things that impress me, but I’m going to have to get back to you on this one to find some of the quotes. A lot of stuff came out of all the Pathology press junket, he’d become a lot more open, and talkative than I had notice in previous interviews. Maybe more confident, don’t know… but I liked what I was reading/hearing, he talks about the ‘art’ of acting, he reflective, and his comments show a very creative intelligence. And being a movie geek myself, who is very interested in the craft of telling stories no matter what the media, it’s really nice to see that he says the the same things I’ve been thinking too.

I have it memorized now, but I do have the occasional typo. And I just have to double check myself. But I’d be nervous about ’saying’ his name out loud to people in public, etc, I just KNOW I’m going to mangle it!

I have no idea, it’s been over 10 years since I’ve seen the movie, and have not yet got around to checking it out because I was led to believe it was a blink and you miss it moment. Have you seen it?

(I *think* I saw him in it, I’ve certainly seen the movie plenty of times!)

Several of you probably know her from her time on Arrested Development. I hope she can find a gig that works out for a long time. Cause I’m ready to watch. I appreciate writing, and so as I watched the two episodes tonight, I typed out my favorite quotes. If they can’t exact - I apologize. The second show just ended about 40 minutes ago so I can’t really confirm them online yet. You’re getting a first look at them (maybe)!

Some of the beauty of these quotes get a little less powerful when not delivered by the talented likes of Chris Parnell and Judy Greer. So my advice is to call them up and get them to say them to you over the phone. (I give really good advice.)

“Take my word for it, don’t lick a mouse.”

“Can you just text me the problem? I’ll text you back ASAP.” (This wouldn’t be so funny if it wasn’t said by a guidance counselor to a kid. I mean, well - it’s horrible. But since it’s not a real kid, we can laugh. Right?)

“They probably have ice at the restaurant.” “Yea…I think I’m going to do it at home.” “Yea, that’s probably smart - go with the ice you know!” (I’m afraid of ice I’m not familiar with, too! Or not.)

Felicity: Senior Year

Oh Felicity, even when you chopped off most of your hair in season two I still loved you. By Senior year a lot had happened, but Felicity had mellowed a bit a lot. This soundtrack has bittersweet songs to listen to when you’re reflecting on life, love, and lizards (or something) like Jude - King of Yesterday, Andy Stochansky - Here Nor There, and Barenaked Ladies - Call and Answer. No need to mope all the time though, be uplifted with Maren Ord’s song Perfect. There are thirteen tracks total, which is an unlucky number but Felicity Porter was lucky. She ended up with her true love. Not the guy I would have picked (oh Noel Crane, I love you) but I have unwaivering devotion to Keri Russel and Felicity - the show and the girl. J.J. Abrams made this show before Alias and Lost. I think it might be my favorite of them all, though I love them all. J.J. Abrams wrote and performed the theme song they used in the last two seasons of Felicity. Wanna hear/see it? Here you go:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Once More, with Feeling

This is the soundtrack for a specific episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, called Once More With Feeling. It is a musical! In a word, it is: awesome!

If you’ve ever wanted a gorgeous man to sing a song to you (question - who doesn’t?) then you’ll enjoy James Marsters as Spike, singing the dramatic and lovelorn Rest in Peace:

This is the last of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer soundtracks, and it’s wonderful (I wish there were more). I recommend getting this just for the song Blue by Angie Hart. The song was written specifically for the season seven episode Conversations with Dead People. There are songs by Blur, Aimee Mann, and The Dandy Warhols. Of course, there are also songs by singers and bands you might not know that well: Dashboard Prophets, Devics, and Lunatic Calm. Sarah McLachlan’s Prayer for Saint Francis is a short and beautiful song that is also included.

You have to get this if only to get the Rolling Stone’s cover of You Can’t Always Get What You Want by Band from TV. The band does covers for charity and includes members such as actor Greg Gunberg and Hugh Laurie (House). Listen to the song!:

Veronica Mars

A really, really, really amazing album! Something Happens by Momentary Thing brings you right back to the moment of Logan and Veronica’s first kiss. (A moment to relive a thousand times.) Ocean City Girl by Ivy makes you wish you lived on an ocean, and even though I live on a lake I’m still jealous. Lily Dreams on by Cotton Mather makes me tear up every time I hear it. I Turn my Camera On by Spoon will make you feel spirited and dance, at the very least. The Perisher’s make me swoon and their song Sway is perfect. Also highly notable is the song Long Time Coming by The Delays. I’m not sure what it is about this song, but I seem to put it on repeat all the time.

Oh, and did I forget the mention the theme song? We Used to be Friends by The Dandy Warhols? A long time ago, we used to be friends… COME ON NOW SUGAR, BRING IT ON, BRING IT ON YEA!!! (When I hear this song I have to bounce around on a sugar high and forget to care that I can’t dance.)

This is a CD for music lovers. We’ve got a little Bjork, some P.J. Harvey, John Lennon, The Shins, Elastica and even XTC. A theme song I never get tired of is the one for Gilmore Girls. Carole King & Louise Goffin - Where You Lead I Will Follow:

Why can’t we all live in Stars Hollow, have best friends like Paris Gellar, Sookie St. James and Lane Kim, boyfriends like Luke Danes, Jess Mariano and Dave Rygaliski, and most importantly - have Moms like Lorelai? At least we can listen to the great music Lorelai and Rory listen to.

Okay, what are your favorite TV soundtracks? Do you remember the first TV soundtrack you ever got? My dad bought me a Friends soundtrack, so that was my first. It’s okay. Nothing to jump around for. I gave it away. Remember, some TV soundtracks are only a good idea at the time (anyone else going to admit to listening to the Dawson’s Creek soundtracks? me either!) but some will stay with you forever.

In a world of TiVO and all of our technology, often we don’t see commercials on TV anymore. But have you forgotten that there are some commercials that are worth watching? Over fifty commercials you’ll actually enjoy watching are in this show, all centering around relationships that go awry. I’m sure you’ve been there - you find a great person you think could be special, and then a day later you realize that they collect road kill to hang on their bedroom walls. That’s just…ew.

Some of the commercials you will recognize - like one for Starburst. Others you won’t know, especially the ones from other countries. Having already gotten to see this TBS special, I can tell you that was possibly the best part. Subtitles are provided for those ones, so all you have to do is sit back, relax, and be glad your love life isn’t as screwed up as you previously thought. Free therapy!

Fox has already picked the song it will use this season, and it will make its debut on Tuesday’s episode where the contestants are narrowed down from that massive bunch that was sent to Hollywood. The song is appropriately called Hollywood’s Not America, and is by singer/songwriter Ferras, who himself has realized making it big isn’t everything. Somewhat ironic, I guess, as this song is about to make him a star, if we look at past history.

Already in the making is a music video for Ferras’ Hollywood’s Not America, with the following video a behind the scenes look.
