The Thermals – Here’s Your Future lyrics:

God reached his hand down from the sky
He flooded the land then he set it on fire
He said, “Fear me again. Know I’m your father.
Remember that no one can breathe underwater”

So bend your knees and bow your heads
Save your babies, here’s your future
Yeah, here’s your future

God reached his hand down from the sky
God asked Noah if he wanted to die
He said no sir
Oh, no, sir

God said here’s your future
It’s going to rain
So we’re packing our things
We’re building a boat
Where God will create the new master race
Cause we’re so pure
Oh, we’re so pure
So here’s your future

God told his son it’s time to come home
I promise you won’t have to die all alone
I need you to pay for the sins I create
His son said, “I will but Dad, I’m afriad”

Yeah, so here’s your future
Here’s your future
Yeah, here’s your future
So here’s your future
So here’s your future
So here’s your future

In The Juror #6 Job episode of TNT’s Leverage Parker (Beth Riesgraf) must face jury duty. Do you feel bad for the rest of the jury, or what? This ‘request’ is made shortly after we see that Parker’s frustrated. This is not a good sign for someone who does things like burn things to relieve stress (a nice run would be more effective!). Parker turns a corner when she believes the jury is being bought and she can spot hidden cameras. Is she really seeing things, or is she maybe just ’seeing things’? Find out on Tuesday, February 10th at 10 p.m. And I gotta tell you guys, I REALLY enjoyed this episode!!!

The Beauty of the Random:

- “…you smell like gravy.” – Parker

- Eliot does a cool bottle throw move. I’m uber jealous of this – I think I break anything I throw.

- There is a totally a ‘LOL apple moment’. It’s amazing. Wait for it. You’ll see what I mean. I love it.

- Timothy Hutton in glasses, yum. He’s older than me, yes – but yum anyway. Glasses are hot.

- The episode guest stars Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s principal Snyder, Armin Shimmerman. Hi!

- It also guest stars Lauren Holly and Brent Spiner. Hi, hi.

- Proud!Parker, Stressed!Parker, Leader!Parker (And she comes with all the right accessories!)

During my teenage years the answer to the question “What is your favorite store” was of supreme importance. (It was THE question!) Even I, who tried valiantly not to answer to the ‘trends’ or ‘popularity contests’ made an effort to pick an answer that would somehow encapsulate and show my entire personality by uttering just one store name. The pressure was ON!

Self-conscious by nature, it had to be a store that was well-known, and known for having good clothing. I usually said Express or The Gap, which was very popular back then. (Today, even with cute commercials The Gap is not as popular as it was in the late 90’s, or am I wrong?)

I love her style! Lily Aldrin on How I Met Your Mother

Well, my style has changed so my answer would naturally be different these days. But more than that, I feel like I can be more honest. Even if I liked Express back then, it was too expensive for me to really shop there with any regularity! (These days I’m not such a fan of that store.) So when I said that store as my answer, it was just to prove something.

If, today, I had to list my favorite stores in order, these are them: 1) Marshalls, 2) H&M, 3) World Market, 4) Sephora, 5) Target, 6) Etsy.com shops, and local art galleries for handmade jewelry and lotions.

The thing about these stores is that depending on what you’re buying you really won’t be spending a ton on just one item (I’m so not a fan of expensive bags with prominent logos a la Coach, D&G, Fendi…And most of us can only afford the knock-offs, so why bother?), plus most sell more than just one kind of thing which saves time and lets you do comparison shopping very fast.

If you have an H&M near you, it’s great to buy basic, cheap staples to include for accessories. I mix that in with more unique (often vintage) items. I also mix my favorite more expensive beauty items from Sephora in with cheaper L’Oreal stuff from Target.

For clothing, I tend to shop different places because the worst thing is to be a walking ad for a store. You may think you’ll be lookin’ cool if you’re dressed head-to-toe in one label, but you’d be wrong. I think it’s fun to buy a T-shirt from Urban Outfitters, then wear an inexpensive hoodie from Macy’s over it. You do not need a plain brown hoodie from Urban Outfitters which will cost you three times as the same nondescript one at Macy’s – trust me.

A more...interesting style choice!

Marshalls wins its way to the top of my list because it has so many different brands, and types of items. When I want to change my room around (an obsession I have!) I look at Marshalls and World Market. But for clothes, especially- Marshalls has amazing deals.

Recently I got a fluffy cardigan from Marshalls for $30.00 which was originally $69.00. The best part is that there is no stigma of ‘it’s not cool and that’s why it’s on sale/here’ because Marshalls is the type of place that buys overstocked items form great stores, and probably a lot of Wholesale Clothing items.

Details make the difference. Which is one of the reasons I like my details (jewelry, scarves, hairclips) to be unusual, vintage, or one-of-a-kind. Etsy.com has plenty of shops that focus on amazing jewelry. Vintage places often have handbags that are still in good shape and you won’t find anywhere else. You’ll soon remember why you thought shopping was so fun! (Always shop for fun wallets!)

So if you have a teen, or if in general you wish you could have ‘cool clothing like so and so on that TV show’ – remember to mix new and old, expensive and cheap, and make use of your details! Now…if only Anthropologie would have a store-wide sale!

Somehow, my new favorite drink of the holiday season ended up being freckled lemonade from Red Robin (which comes with endless, ‘bottomless’, refills). It’s lemonade with frozen strawberries in it, and it’s the most refreshing thing to have after hours of shopping or walking or rolling down snowy hills. Normally I’d say I’m loving peppermint hot chocolate, or a gingerbread latte – or even eggnog…but no. It has to be freckled lemonade this year.

How do you make freckled lemonade? I can’t lie, It’s surprisingly hard to make! You have to have A) Lemonade (hahaha, I typed lameonade at first), B) Frozen strawberries, C) Ice in moderation. Mix and serve. Ahhh – that’s the sound of

being refreshed. I decided to make my own tonight while watching Weeds season 2 on my Netflix ‘Instant Watch’.

I’m all about Weeds now – it’s one of my favorite shows of the moment. When I saw some of Zooey Deschanel on the show, I just didn’t care that I haven’t seen the show before (unless you count five minutes of one of the first episodes). I loved her character! Again, I didn’t care that she was a guest star or that I’d only seen a few moments of the character. My heart was taken!

So, I’m watching the Zooey episodes of Weeds right now, and then I’ll go and watch season one properly. Going in reverse for some shows doesn’t bug me as much as with others. *Helpless shrug*

Zooey Deschanel

So, I must tackle these episodes first:

Weeds – Doing the Backstroke (2007) TV episode …. Zooey Deschanel as Kat (season 3, not available)
Weeds - Pittsburgh (2006) TV episode …. Zooey Deschanel as Kat
Weeds - Yeah, Just Like Tomatoes (2006) TV episode …. Zooey Deschanel as Kat (WATCHED!)
Weeds - Mile Deep and a Foot Wide (2006) TV episode …. Zooey Deschanel as Kat (WATCHED!)

Zooey recently attended the premiere for her movie (with some random dude named Jim Carrey) Yes Man and she wore a low-key version of when Bjork wore a swan. I love this outfit.

Deschanel told Jay Leno that she laughed so hard during the premiere in L.A. that she split the dress (the white one) up the back – oops!

She called Carrey ‘very energetic’ which is code for ‘batshit crazy’. He arrived at the premiere in a giant hamster wheel? Yea, that’s…well, I’d imagine that it takes a lot of energy.

The Yes Man movie actually looks pretty good and I want to see it at the movie theater, which is not a place I’m that fond of. They do have good popcorn, though. So that’s a PRO. And they have dippin’ dots. And twizzlers… Yea – I tend to stay away because they have so much candy it makes me crazy I kid, I kid.

The truth is that I really hate getting stuck in a bad movie (You Me and Dupree, anyone?) but I also hate to leave a movie since I’m cheap and also want (read: NEED) to know how things end. It’s just a lame situation that I tend to keep myself out of unless I BELIEVE In the movie. (I will be seeing Scream 4 in theaters even though I don’t think I believe in it. And yea – have you guys heard of this yet?!)

Zooey Deschanel on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno:

Zooey Deschanel on Jimmy Kimmel Live:

A Zooey Deschanel interview which is HILARIOUS, seriously:

Time for some randomness…

For fans of Diablo Cody, Amanda Seyfried, Kyle Gallner, Megan Fox (why?), Amy Sedaris or Adam Brody – did you know you can already reserve your copy of the movie Jennifer’s Body on Netflix? Yup! I did that today, I feel very accomplished. The movie is still yet to reach theaters, but oh well!

“Son of a motherless goat!” (Anyone know where that’s from? the Three Amigos!)

You should go over to TENgossip and read my writeup of The Write Environment, then come here and buy it on Amazon. Buy: The Write Environment: Featuring an interview with Joss Whedon (2008) I was talking with the creator, Jeffrey Burrman, and it turns out he is also a fan of The Guild. Yay!

Some Jimmy Backius photography posted on Creature Comforts inspired me to write this little creative snippet:

She was Ophelia of the backyard. Feeling depressed and dramatically desperate she marched her heeled feet through the garden path, flouncing her way to the pond. A moment later there was a splash and her feet were barefoot, neon yellow high-heels floating with lilypads. Then she was down on the grass, grasping it in her palms like the earth-mother-goddess she was. The earth spoke to her. Everything spoke to her. She was alive and life was terribly wonderful as much as it was wonderfully terrible. She looked to the blue sky overhead. It was blooming and bursting with the greens of tree limbs above. The green was so bright and lush it looked shiny and wet, as though she were in the jungle. Around her, flowers shone like jewels in the sun.

The star of The Office last night was none other than Princess Unicorn! Combing Barbies + Princesses + Unicorns is the most excellent hybrid of favorite things for little girls. All that is missing is a mermaid tail attachment!

Lucky for us, there’s a Princess Unicorn Website with photos, testimonials, and a very intersting poem. There’s even quotes from some familar names!

Kelly Kapur told the site, “I wish I was Princess Unicorn’ and she probably wasn’t joking. And Dwight K. Schrute is also a fan: “Proficiently made. Girls and effeminate boys tend to have a strong affinity for it. For all your Unicorn Princess and paper needs, call Dunder Mifflin Scranton, and ask for Dwight K. Schrute!” He sounds like a great guy!

Here’s a deleted scene from last nights episode of The Office , Moroccan Christmas, where Angela acts like an ant and calls being President being in charge of the biggest party planning committee ever. Or something. Just watch!:

Thanks to USA Network and Electric Artists I am able to give you guys a chance to win some fun prizes from Monkand Psych. Since we’re talking about those shows, you can also read what I’ve recently written about Monk and Psych regarding their season premieres which are this Friday night.

While you’re here, sit down and have a cookie! I very much want to encourage you to look around the blog. So that might help you decide if you’d like to subscribe. And I’ve love for you to do that!

Today we have an exclusive Sofachip interview with Sherrie Sherwood, who owns and operates a popular Milo Ventimiglia community on Livejournal.com. I chatted with the friendly Aussie about Heroes, the ridiculous nature of tabloids, and Milo’s last name. Some of her favorite pictures of Milo are peppered throughout this post. Let’s go!

What year did you start the Livejournal community Milo_fans?

I started it 7th of May 2007. And hey, it’s been one whole year now! Aawww, I wish I’d caught that, I could of made a 1 year anniversary post.

Is he your favorite actor? Who are your other favorite actors and actresses?

Yes, most definitely my favourite actor. David Duchovny used to be my favourite, and I never thought I’d ever find an actor in my lifetime that I like more than David, but then I watched Heroes and David was pushed to second place. Other actors that I like besides Milo and David are Tony Leung, Cathrine Zeta Jones, and a lot of other actors.

When and how did you first become a fan of Milo? (What show or movie
did you see him in first?)

Heroes, after that I chased up all the other shows and movies he’s been in. The Apple iBook advert surprised me, because I remembered that advert from years back (I’m a Mac person, I notice that sort of stuff).

Have you ever watched something you didn’t like, simply because Milo
was in it? Can you give an example?

I thought Speedway Junky was depressing. Other than that I can’t think of anything I’ve disliked.

What is the role that Milo has done that you enjoy the most? Why?

Peter Petrelli in Heroes, what got my attention besides the fact that he was a real cutie, was Peter’s earnestness. And there was a classic ‘Hero on a mission’ thing going on in a Super Hero setting (my favourite genre) that happens to be a favourite theme of mine.

Is your impression from running the community and surfing the web that
most people like the idea of Milo dating his Heroes costar Hayden
Panettiere?

Thankfully, everyone on the community has shown nothing but support in reference to the couple. As for surfing the web, it’s mixed. There a lot of people who love it that they are together, and a lot who have mature attitudes about the age differences and understand it something based on the individuals themselves. And then there are the people with intolerant and juvenile attitudes, though loud, I think they are out numbered. Plus their comments just reflect back on themselves.

Are there any movies or projects of Milo’s that you haven’t seen?

I’ve never seen the short film Intelligence, and this is something I really want to see! And of course Pathology, which has not been released in Australia. The only thing preventing me from seeing them is access. If there is anything that is available, I do not hesitate to trot down to my local DVD store, or Amazon.com.

What is the most absurd tabloid rumor you’ve heard about Milo?

The other day, not so much a tabloid rumour, but a title to online tabloid article:

“Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Married?“

What’s the one thing that Milo has said in an interview that’s
particularly stood out to you?

Milo actually says a lot of things that impress me, but I’m going to have to get back to you on this one to find some of the quotes. A lot of stuff came out of all the Pathology press junket, he’d become a lot more open, and talkative than I had notice in previous interviews. Maybe more confident, don’t know… but I liked what I was reading/hearing, he talks about the ‘art’ of acting, he reflective, and his comments show a very creative intelligence. And being a movie geek myself, who is very interested in the craft of telling stories no matter what the media, it’s really nice to see that he says the the same things I’ve been thinking too.

Milo’s last name is difficult to spell, do you have it memorized by
now or do you ever make a mistake in typing it?

I have it memorized now, but I do have the occasional typo. And I just have to double check myself. But I’d be nervous about ’saying’ his name out loud to people in public, etc, I just KNOW I’m going to mangle it!

I read on IMDB.com that Milo played one of the soccer player’s in the
hit 90’s movie She’s All That – but I don’t think I ever noticed
that before. Can you spot him in the film?

I have no idea, it’s been over 10 years since I’ve seen the movie, and have not yet got around to checking it out because I was led to believe it was a blink and you miss it moment. Have you seen it?

(I *think* I saw him in it, I’ve certainly seen the movie plenty of times!)

So, here’s something embarrassing (this time not an anecdote about me, but the huge company Cover Girl). If you go to the page to vote for America’s Next Top Model Cover Girl of the week – there’s a little surprise for you. The have all of the remaining models there, plus two faces that shouldn’t be there. The first face is Claire’s – who was booted this week. I mean, she should be down but since I never bothered to go to this site before maybe they keep her up until the week after she’s booted. Making for hilarity since, if the most fan-loved girl is the one just sent packing, well, it’s irony working overtime. The really strange thing is that one of the girls up there is Kimberly, the blonde who was eliminated in the first round. So, there’s no excuse for her to be there. To celebrate, let’s vote her as the Cover Girl of the week! She deserves it, man. Such perseverance. Such stamina. For more: Sirlinksalot: America’s Next Top Model

Tonight I decided to take a chance on Miss Guided, once again. What spurred this action? Well, I’ll tell you – although it’s a little itty bit embarrassing. But yes, I will SPILL MY SOUL, for you. Because you’re so pretty. How do you get your hair so shiny? …I digress. Anyway, I still don’t love the show but I really think that Judy Greer is a talented actress. Today, feeling horrible, I put on a TAPE of a movie that I can watch a million times and never get sick of – The Wedding Planner. The one with J-Lo. (Stop laughing.) Judy Greer plays a wacky sidekick, and I can’t help but love her. I have no idea what will happen to her new show, and i was surprised that tonight was the season finale.

Several of you probably know her from her time on Arrested Development. I hope she can find a gig that works out for a long time. Cause I’m ready to watch. I appreciate writing, and so as I watched the two episodes tonight, I typed out my favorite quotes. If they can’t exact – I apologize. The second show just ended about 40 minutes ago so I can’t really confirm them online yet. You’re getting a first look at them (maybe)!

Some of the beauty of these quotes get a little less powerful when not delivered by the talented likes of Chris Parnell and Judy Greer. So my advice is to call them up and get them to say them to you over the phone. (I give really good advice.)

“Take my word for it, don’t lick a mouse.”

“Can you just text me the problem? I’ll text you back ASAP.” (This wouldn’t be so funny if it wasn’t said by a guidance counselor to a kid. I mean, well – it’s horrible. But since it’s not a real kid, we can laugh. Right?)

“They probably have ice at the restaurant.” “Yea…I think I’m going to do it at home.” “Yea, that’s probably smart – go with the ice you know!” (I’m afraid of ice I’m not familiar with, too! Or not.)

“It’s incredible, but you’re right.”

“I’m still your buddy, but now I have the authority to fire you at any time, for any reason.”

“I estimate that nine out of ten high school students have herpes or a baby.” “So when is the last time you were single?”

“Fifth grade..oh no, that’s ridiculous, 3rd grade.”

“So…A Farewell to Arms..let’s talk about some of the larger themes…like the arms..whose arms are they?”

“They have a lot in common, they both seem really sexually frustrated.”

“I thought about what you said last night. And I decided to love myself.”

“I am so proud of you. That can be a really long process.”

“I did it in one night! I really love myself.”

“Some women are so intense that you don’t know if they’re going to kiss you or murder you. [Pause] I like Lisa anyway.”

“I was such a fool yesterday. I’ve grown up a lot since then.”

Anywaaaaay – I am so excited because Daemon’sTV.com has an interview with my favorite Greek guy, Cappie (Scott Michael Foster)! Sadly, it looks like this season won’t be giving us too much Cappie/Casey.

And TVFilter.com has interesting new information about Smallville for any of you who are fans.
