Tim Kring is Promising a Great Season Three of Heroes

Kristen Bell Rocks

The above is the cutest new picture of Kristen Bell that I’ve seen. Then again, she always looks adorable/cute/beautiful. You can check out more pictures from this photo shoot you can check it out at the wonderful French Kristen Bell fansite Kristen Fanatic. Luckily you don’t have to speak French to see the pictures. Bonjour? Ca va? …Aaaand, I’m out of French phrases! Awesome.

If you’re a fan of Heroes then you know Kristen Bell as the sociopathic-yet-still-lovable Elle Bishop. TVGuide.com has an interesting piece on what we can expect for Heroes season three. You can read that here. Heroes is going to be having a three-hour series opener. The first hour will be a Q&A, but that’s still a lot even if you don’t watch the first hour. Then again - why wouldn’t you watch all three hours? Psh. I’ll be taping it! And to answer your next question, yes, I am seriously that old skool and I don’t have a stupid Tivo thing! Sadface. Sadfase. (Which spelling of that is cuter?)

ANYWAY! From the aforementioned article we learn that Elle Bishop will appear “in the second half of two hour premiere”. I want to see lots of Elle this season. I mean, not in a dirty way. You know what I mean.

There is an interview with Bell in The Official Heroes Magazine (issue 5) that you can read here.

More Heroes stuff later on, okay? In the meantime, 30 Rock with Tina Fey must be watched voraciously. And I do mean literally WITH Tina Fey. She’s on my couch right now, eating all of my Flipsides crackers. Bitch. Rawwwr. Okay. Where is my Diet Coke? I feel depleted of energy and, is my head supposed to feel like it weights 684 tons? I think I have yet another migraine coming on to make this day super fun. /end sarcasm.

Maggie Grace of “Lost” Fame is Looking Polished as a Brunette (Jealous?)

I seem to care more about the character’s of Lost after they’ve been killed off, that’s weird, huh? I always had a soft spot for Shannon and Boone, and I think you all know what’s become of them. Augh! Shannon was played by Maggie Grace, who I hadn’t realized had become a brunette! And she looks even better with dark hair, I think. But, you be the judge! In the second picture you’ll notice she’s rocking the fashion trend of polished, fancy shorts for events. Not everyone is successful with this trend, but Maggie looks, in my humble-but-fashionably-educated opinion, all kinds of wonderful. (Even if her facial expression in that picture is kind of like ‘guhh?’)

Grace had a small role in the disappointing straight-to-DVD movie Suburban Girl which starred Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy). Is it wrong to hope she won’t get any projects for a bit and they’ll decide to somehow work her back onto Lost?

Two TV Shows That Will Leave You Twitterpated

Maybe I should have gone slower (whoa - what do you think I’m talking about, your mind is SO dirty) in jumping into two new fandoms. But I couldn’t help myself! (I’m frantically waving my hands to distract you as I climb out onto the roof.) The rumors are true - I’ve hopped on board with two more shows by watching them on DVDs. Can I get a drum roll (and glass of lemonade), please? The shows are 30 Rock and Big Love.

My reason for not watching them before was mostly time, and I don’t have a DVR so it can be difficult to get to every show I mean to watch. But in this desert of bad reality TV shows, I’ve found the time. I also found the time to do my laundry, scrub the bathroom ceiling, and perfectly pluck and shape my eyebrows without having to pay to get them waxed. Who’s laughing now, life?! (Oh, to clarify — life, much like ‘the man’ is always, ALWAYS, trying to get me down.)

I fully endorse and approve of these two shows. They make for quality TV show watching. And if you watch them at the same time, it works out great because one is a comedy and one is a drama. (Too much of either of them can leave you unbalanced. And we all know that a balanced TV diet is an important as a balanced breakfast, yes?)

Tina Fey is amazing and I can’t think of any reason you wouldn’t watch 30 Rock, unless you are intimidated by her genius. When Tina gets around to it, she’s going to call me up and we’re going to do awesome things like get Diet Coke and walk around the city. Wait, you don’t think that sounds amazing? Doing ANYTHING with Tina Fey probably ends up hilarious and cool. Even doing taxes. Not that I do taxes. (Kidding!)

Big Love is a show with a premise (polygamy - which I am against in every way) that even had me going ‘uh…pass’ - but it was the inclusion of two actresses from a TV show I love (Tina Majorino and Amanda Seyfried from Veronica Mars) that had me giving it a try. And I like it, I really, really liked it. The show is done very well, and you can enjoy the show even while you disagree with the whole polygamy thing. They’re not trying to make any converts with subliminal messaging, I promise.

And I don’t wanna get all six degrees of Kevin Bacon on you, but Tina Fey and Amanda Seyfried have a connection through the movie Mean Girls. So…yea.

If you’re still wondering what twitterpated is, you didn’t watch Bambi enough as a child.

What if Kristen Bell had played Sydney Bristow? What if Jennifer Garner had played Veronica Mars?

I was messing around in Photoshop when I started turning Kristen Bell’s hair red. I liked it. It happened to be a promotional image of Kristen as Veronica Mars. What happened then was that I decided to give her fiery reddish hair like Sydney Bristow had on Alias in the first episode. I got to wondering, what if those actresses had been switched? One reason this wouldn’t have worked is that Bell was born in 1980, and Garner was born in 1972. Now, before anyone gets angry and wants to throw shoes at me - I don’t actually wish that would have happened. I love Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars, and I love Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow. Still, it’s a little fun to wonder… So, here’s the image of Kristen where I pondered what she might have been like as Sydney in that first episode

.What if Kristen Bell was Sydney Bristow?

I think Veronica and Sydney have some obvious similarities - both being tough women. One of them (Sydney) worked for the CIA, the other (Veronica) would have (if season 4 had happened as was possibly planned) gone on to be in the FBI. Both of them had reasons to be pissed off at people (finance murdered, best friend murdered…) and both did strive for justice. Of course, there are plenty of reasons that make the characters different. For one example - Veronica and her dad had a really (what I think is) amazing relationship. Meanwhile, Sydney was constantly trying to figure out the relationship she had with her father.

I’m no Photoshop expert, but I did give a picture of Garner a makeover to see what she would look like blonde. (You can see it after the jump.) What do you think of these looks?

So, what else is up? *Pats the sofa* Come sit down and chat! Tonight I made cornbread, it was pretty good. Am I a chef, or what? Maybe I need more practice, hmm. Suggestions?

I found a very cool post on Televisionary.com about Tina Fey/30 Rock - which, as you guys know, is my new TV obsession. I am angry at myself that I missed Fey hosting SNL recently.

I have another TV obsession I’m hoping to get into once I get the DVDs. And that, my friends, would be The Tudor’s. If anyone else is slow to get on this bandwagon, I suggest checking out this post by DaemonsTV.com. The post details the different character’s with pretty, pretty pictures. *Pets*

Oh, and I feel so relieved that another huge Buffy fan agrees with me about what is happening to Buffy in the ongoing ‘canon’ Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics. It’s not in character for her! Check out a review of the latest BTVS comic at this post from MikeyLikesTV.com.

Pop-Up Video, Parnell, & Polar Bears (Titling this post is difficult!)

In this post, among other things, I share with you my new love for Tina Fey’s show 30 Rock, tell you who I once knew who was called by the name of a certain candy bar, and I vent about Internet pop up adds which are in no way as cool as VH1’s Pop-Up Video. (I wish they’d bring that back. Since they probably won’t I’m putting a YouTube video of one of the songs under the jump.)

Tina FeyI hopped on over to TV Guide tonight to see what all is going on there. I was soon greeted by two annoying ads - one that starts talking right away (my speakers would be off but I was listening to She & Him : Volume One), plugging a TV show, and the other a larger than it should be ad telling me to buy some album with old American Idol contestants on it, or something. I mean, I don’t read most pop-up ads and to my knowledge, my computer usually keeps them from me as that is the agreement I made with it.

Now, when the evil ads appear I tend to just search rapidly for the ‘x’ so I can close the annoying add. Although, as I’m sure you’ve noticed - companies are making it more and more difficult to locate a way to close the ad. They put it high, then low, make it hard to see, etc. Seriously, give me a break. (Or a Kit Kat. Aside: One of my parent’s friends had a little girl whose nickname was Kit Kat. But it became all she was called. It was adorable when she was 2 years old. I wonder if she still goes by it.)

When I finally made it to my destination I threw a party with Mint Milanos (Karen Walker of Will & Grace would be so proud). I wanted to check out what the site was giving ‘cheers and jeers’ to. Would I be cheering and jeering right along? Oh- - - suspense! Continued
