“I’m Reed Fish” is Riddled with Heartfelt Intentions and Familiar Faces

Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls), Jay Baruchel (Undeclared), Chris Parnell (SNL), Katey Sagal (8 Simple Rules, Married with Children) and Shiri Appleby (Roswell) are all TV actors who are in the movie I’m Reed Fish, therefore, I shall talk about it!

I almost didn’t know anything about this movie, except one day I was in trusty IMDB.com to see if I’d seen every movie that Alexis Bledel had been in. After all, I loved her on Gilmore Girls! I found this movie, which I hadn’t seen. Since watching it, all I can do is implore you to go rent/Netflix/buy it!

This is a refreshingly quirky movie full of all the best reasons to love a movie. You’ll watch it at least twice.

Love is Happy, and So are These TV Fandom Videos

Here’s the third installment of the Sofachip Fanvid Appreciation Awards. Are you POSSIBLY freaking ready? This makes me feel like a DJ, almost. Which reminds me of the time I was living in a dorm room, and I’d call my friend who lived literally one floor down, and I’d pretend to be a DJ. Um…it as more fun than it sounds. Honest.

I pretend to hate this song but I guess I actually sorta love it, sometimes. This video is amazing. Buffy and Angel (Bangel) are true love x 80. I don’t know if this song is supposed to be romantic, and I never took it that way - but watching this video makes me see romance in the lyrics. I love that it’s got the action (WHAM) and then the tense romance (AWW) - even sexiness (YUM). Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and David Boreanaz (Bones, Angel) secretly love each other, that’s my theory.

Pairing Our Gilmore Girls with Dorothy Parker Equals Perfection

People seemed to enjoy the graphic I made of Emily Gilmore in this post here, so I made some more. These are Gilmore Girls based, as well. Only these are of Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore) and Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore). Feel free to use these on your journals and blogs if you’d like, just credit ‘Jessica Rae at sofachip.com’.

I used quotes by Dorothy Parker for these graphics. You can read about her here. Amy Sherman-Palladino, who was the creator of The Gilmore Girls, named her production company Dorothy Parker Drank Here. Rory was also seen on the show as reading The Portable Dorothy Parker. Ergo, I feel the quotes and images have a symbiotic bond of sorts.

Where are our Gilmore Girls? [ Alexis Bledel Edition ]

As promised earlier, I’m going to discuss what Alexis Bledel has been doing since Gilmore Girls has been off the air. You can read about what Lauren Graham is doing here.

Alexis played Lauren’s daughter, Rory Gilmore. The super smart Yale graduate, Rory, was off as a journalist to cover Barack O’bama’s campaign for an online magazine when we saw her last. What about Alexis?

Well, she filmed two movies: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and The Post Grad Survival Guide. Earlier, she was in the movie I’m Reed Fish which I want to mention because not enough people know about it, and it is really great. Another earlier project she did that I want to mention is the short film DysEnchanted, where she played Goldilocks in therapy. (I’ll put the YouTube video of it below.)

There is really not that much other information about her, I can’t even find a picture of her at any recent premieres - but she’s been busy shooting those movies. And I suspect, maybe taking some time away from the limelight.
