The New Smallville Villain Seems Exactly like the Same-Named One from Roswell

Tess HardingMaybe not exactly-exactly, but really, really close. According to Ausiello from tvguide.com this is what we can expect from the new Smallville villain:

Tess (?) on Smallville

• Drop-dead gorgeous (duh)
• Roughly 28 years old
• She’s determined, sexy, vengeful and has super-strength.
• “While Lex is away, she is in control of his estate and rules it with aggression. She’s had intellect and the confidence all her life, though it’s obvious she’s had some training from Lex as well. But as much as Lex has helped fortify her power, he is also her biggest weakness. She harbors an undying devotion to Lex, claiming he saved her life a few years ago. She carries out his wishes with coercion, force, seduction — anything to get what she wants. And no one can resist her beguiling ways. Even Clark Kent. She doesn’t remember anything before the day she met Lex. Once she realizes her previous life is buried below the surface, she’s desperate to dig it up.”

I’m not a fan of Smallville, but I found this interesting because this villain seems so much like a ‘villain’ from Roswell. Her name was also, ironically, Tess - Tess Harding. You know her now as Claire on Lost. It was hard for me to accept Claire for a while, because I had so identified Emilie de Ravin as Tess, and being manipulative and evil. Claire, of course, couldn’t be farther from that. She’s saintly! Tess was another story.

Let’s compare! (It’s crazy similar!)

Pizza for 23 Cents Makes People Crazy

Pizza for 23 Cents Makes People Crazy

If I click to any news station right now, I can’t seem to escape the story surrounding the Cleveland area. It’s not exactly boring, but it involves sports. Which I don’t like. Basically, the story is this: The Pizza Chain Pappa John’s handed out jersey’s at a game (to the opposing time) with their logo, LeBron James’ number ‘23′ and the word ‘Crybaby‘. This made Cav’s fans angry. Not me, since I just don’t care. But you know, other’s.

So today was the 23 cent pizza day. That’s right. A large pizza with one topping for a whopping 23 cents. Apparently the lines were long, and three people were arrested over arguments and getting out of line, while in line. Someone I know went to get a pizza, and they spent two hours in line. I guess it’s kind of a quirky and eccentric thing to do, and then say you did. But just standing there, for hours, to get a pizza - it doesn’t seem worth it.

It’s just a weird story.

So here’s what I want to know, how long would you wait in a line for a 23 cent pizza?

And I used a picture of Emile de Ravin, because after watching the latest Lost episode tonight, I have a bad feeling about how long she’ll be around. SADNESS.

What if the Cast of

What if the Cast of “Lost” was Re-Arranged?

I’m going to bring you back to a simpler time. When our Losties were still all on the island. We’d never heard of Nikki or Paulo. There was a giant monster and you were pretty sure it was a dinosaur, or something huge and corporeal (unlike black smoke). And you knew there were dangerous Other’s but they were far more menacing when you’d never seen one and thought they might be island natives with disfigured faces and polar bear tails. Or something. (For anyone who is a little confused, I’m just saying - remember season one?)

Using that template of characters, I got to thinking about how the cast could be re-arranged. Mind you, not ‘why’ - because I don’t know any good reason to re-arranged the roles, I just think it might be fun to experiment. (Every hormonal teenage guy totally just took that sentence wrong.) If you have other combinations, leave a comment and let me know. How strange can we make it? Well, who knows!

Jack Shepard: Currently played by Matthew Fox. How about… Josh Holloway (Sawyer)? It’s a little obvious, since they’re foils and all - but hear me out. If you took Josh and started him out with shorter hair, and a more clean shaven look - and he read Jack’s lines, and acted with the moral superiority complex, he could so be Jack! And - presto chango, Matthew Fox could play Sawyer. Can’t picture this? Have you ever seen season one or two of Party of Five? He was a slacker-type with longer hair (just imagine it less poofy). Now, who should be his leading lady?

Kate Austen: Currently played by Evangeline Lilly. How about… Emilie de Ravin (Claire)? This should be pretty easy to picture if you ever watched Roswell. On that show Emilie played Tess Harding, who ended up being pretty evil. Emilie can play a mischievous person well. She could dye her hair if that was needed.

Shannon Rutherford: Was played by Maggie Grace. How about…Yunjin Kim (Sun)? Pretend she speaks only English (and a little bit of French)! She could be snobby and have bad taste in men.

Okay. So I didn’t get too crazy. It’s not like I said that Terry O’Quinn should play Vincent the dog. That would be a stretch. But the possibilities are there. What do you think?

Reactions to “The Beginning of the End”

The premiere of Lost season four was on Thursday night. Did you watch? I watched and taped. That’s right - not all of us are lucky enough to be blessed with a DVR/TiVo or whatever. But don’t be ashamed, you don’t have an autographed photo of Kurt Vonnegut. Oh wait, that’s my sister. Well, then I guess I’ve got nothing.

Except oodles of things to say about Lost.

This is highly classified spoiler material, people - so you should only click to the jump if you’ve seen the episode.
