I Have Surprising Praise for the Second Season of The Bill Engvall Show

I Have Surprising Praise for the Second Season of The Bill Engvall Show

Tim Meadows from TBS.comGiven the chance to preview the first two episodes of The Bill Engvall show from TBS, I didn’t have high hopes. I honestly didn’t think I’d like the show. But I was wrong. Read on to see why.

Ausiello of TVGuide.com recently said that Lost alum Cynthia Watros (Libby!) will be on season two of the TBS program,The Bill Engvall Show. I actually was just allowed to have an advanced view the first two episodes of the second season for the show. This is a TV show I’d never seen before, so going into it I didn’t know too much. Having now watched and read up on it,  I feel prepared for the rest of the season. And it’s a sseason I truly do want to watch - especially since Watros will be in it for three episodes.

I will tell you that The Bill Engvall show is nothing like Lost. It’s not a serious drama. It reminds me a bit of the ABC Family show Greek. I loooove, love Greek! What these shows have in common is that they’re (mostly and usually) light-hearted, cheery shows that leave me feeling happy. Feeling happy can be hard to come by. My go-to method to feel happy these days is to surround myself with good, funny friends, and good, funny shows. (Or both at the same time for a double whammy of happy.)

Why was I surprised to like The Bill Engvall Show? Well, to be honest I don’t always like a lot of comedies, especially if there’s any cheesiness or it seems impossibly happy. (The song Don’t Worry Be Happy also annoys me sometimes. This might be because my Dad once made my family listen to it about 40 times on a ride down to summer camp.)  I really did enjoy watching this show. In fact I ended up watching each episode twice. I can’t say exactly why, but the show is addictive like a serving of sugary double fudge brownies. Luckily, there’s no calories when you watch the show, I can’t say that for the brownies.

The Olsen Twins Annoy My Eyes

The Olsen Twins Annoy My Eyes

Oh, Olsen twins - I have so many extensive problems with this picture of you two. Where do I even start? I think it’s Mary-Kate on the left, even though it’s usually Ashley with the blonder hair.

Mary-Kate, now you know that we’ve already talked about having you dress better. I was serious about that. But you haven’t listened. I’m sad to see you and your sister both so thin, and I know there are some serious issues there. But this golden dress hangs on you so poorly, it feels like you’re about to slip out of it. You hang your hair in front of you, and you hunch your shoulders - I’m thinking you don’t want to be there. And if you don’t, then why are you? You’re young and free in America, enjoy life and wear pretty dresses!

Ashley, the Diane von Furstenberg dress seems interesting, and yet I find myself thinking it’s like any ol’ black dress. A few cut-outs just doesn’t do it. Some earrings would have helped this look. Your hair looks almost as hopelessly ratty as your twin’s, and I’m not sure why your eyebrows look so dark. You have no color on your face - that is problematic. Why not a bold red lip, or pink cheeks, anything? Mary-Kate looks ghost-like, but it almost works on her. Maybe this is just a bad picture, but it looks like you’ve got a bad dye job, and that you smeared on some cheapo foundation right after having to play a sweaty game of dodge ball in a high school gym class.

Can we have an intervention now?

Cameron on

Cameron on “House M.D.” May be Green With Envy, but it’s Olivia Wilde with Green Eyes

Olivia Wilde is simply known as ‘Thirteen’ on House M.D. these days. She may be concealing some things, but in this Monday’s episode she openly commented about how she thought she might have ‘dated that (female) nurse’ on a TV soap opera. I believe that was the first time she spoke openly of her bisexuality to everyone, although with gossipers maybe they all knew. Either way, her character is interesting because she hides so much. Mystery! Drama! Intrigue! What if she’s a twin, and her and her twin do a switch, so they can work half the hours? Are you trying to say that’s a stunt they’d only pull on Full House? PSH.

While House seems to like her, when he joked twice to Cameron that he’d fire Thirteen and hire her, I couldn’t help but wonder if he meant it. Even Cameron (who I keep typing as ‘Camerson’ guh!) recognized that House had hired someone who was eerily just like her. It was then that Cameron tugged at our ever so fragile heartstrings as she said she missed the job, but she didn’t miss House. Sigh.

House this week was good, and if you missed it, you are ridiculous! Or maybe you’re just busy. But you gotta make time for House. I’d say ‘he’d make time for you ‘ - but we all know that isn’t true. Question: why do we like jerks?

Anyyywaaaay, the picture above is Miss Wilde from Instyle.com, wearing a Spring trend: pink lips. For more suggestions on pink picks for your lips (that’s fun to say out loud) check TheVogueCity.com. If you dare, fuchsia lips are also very hot right now. You just have to follow a few rules. The last thing you want to look like is a hooker, even if you are one! (I’m assuming.)

Green eye shadow is another Spring trend you can see Wilde sport. She wears it well. Well played, Livvie. (I can call her that, we’re BFF.)
