Totally Obsessed: The Tudors, Secret Diary of a Callgirl, Supernatural, and WAY More

Hello! I decided to interview myself. (Yes, you read that right.) That’s just the kind of wacky thing I do. That’s how I got my nickname ‘wacky-doer-of-things-Jessica’.

Sofachip: So, Jessica, what is it that you’ve been watching these days - besides what you’ve mentioned on Sofachip already?

Jessica: A crazy amount of goodness that fills me up with all the angst, joy, and vitamins I need.

SC: But you didn’t answer - What exactly have you been watching, though? What did you watch today?

Jessica: Fine, fine. I’ll speak. I currently have Supernatural season one on DVD which I’ve been watching and just flat-out adoring. I just watched the Bloody Mary episode about an hour ago. See, I had seen most of the first half of the season, but not the rest. I saw the majority of season two, and all of season three. So I wanted to go back - it’s very rewarding to have seen the recent episodes and then go back to the initial ones and see how it all started. Also, these DVDs are honestly possibly the best DVDs I’ve ever seen in terms of TV shows on DVD.

SC: Why is that?

Joss Whedon Makes Me Giddy and I am Not Ashamed (Dr. Horrible PLAN + Matt Rousch Weighs in on Whedon)

Let’s say you could make a list of five people, living or dead, you’d like to have lunch with. Or dinner - if they’ll spring for the tip. That’s a hard list to think of making. But I’m sure of one person that would be on my list: Joss Whedon. Needless to say, when he does something, I’m interested.

This isn’t so say that I’m interested if he picks his nose or plays a good game of croquet. I’m interested in his projects. The Fox TV show Dollhouse is coming along (with Eliza Dushku and Amy Acker) and I’m already feeling like a diehard fan from what I’ve seen. Whedon always impresses me (with tiny, tiny exceptions), so I’m in a state of anticipatory excitement about Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Seriously, I think I’m shaking! Is this vertigo? Hm. I’ll call a Dr. of my own, while you check out all of this info on Dr. Horrible!

The official Dr. Horrible site is a must-see. From there you can access the Dr. Horrible MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter. Pay special attention to THE PLAN. If you miss out, and start crying, it will only be your own sadface fault! You have been warned.

Digg away, my fiends, and friends, and friendly fiends! Here!!! Should I namedrop in the process? Joss Whedon (of course), Felicia Day (a former potential on Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Nathan Fillion (Firefly - also, I kept typing Nation Fillion, haha), Jed Whedon, Zack Whedon aaaaaaaaand Neil Patrick Harris (arguably the best character on How I Met Your Mother). Welcome Neil, to our Whedonverse / Jossverse! (Did Alyson Hannigan of Buffy fame introduce you guys? Did you shake hands? Were your hands sweaty? Are you typically a sweaty guy? Wait. Don’t tell me that! Let’s keep this serious. So…what were you wearing?)

Don’t miss THIS piece by Matt Roush of TVguide.com.

If you want to miss out on the witty Joss Banter and really just want the nitty gritty (you are totally lame, but here):

Three Reasons to Watch NBC’s Chuck

NBC\'s Chuck

Okay, Isaac and I both agree that people should watch the NBC show Chuck. There’s several reasons why I think you should watch it, but since Isaac decided to sway the masses with eye candy of the women of the show, I feel obligated to show the other side: the men! So, it’s time to do a little good ol’ fashioned oogling.

Foxs’ Dollhouse Promo Picture and Official Trailer

I will be eagerly looking for Dollhouse on Monday nights in January of 2009. Until then, here’s a promo picture and a promo trailer!

Dollhouse on Fox

The official Fox tv Dollhouse promo trailer:

DOLLHOUSE focuses on a secret organization that employs “Actives” — a group of operatives who have their memories and personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with new ones, allowing them to take on various missions for hire. DOLLHOUSE airs Mondays (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) this January on FOX.

This is a show by Joss Whedon, we all have reason to be excited. Not to mention, it stars Eliza Dusku. Patience is difficult to harness.

Buffyfans, Ever Pair Glory and Wesley?

Between fanfiction and RPG’s I’m sure that in the Buffyverse (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel) there aren’t many pairings that haven’t been shipped (short for relationship - now you’re hip to the lingo). There are the standard canon ones, and then some popular ones that were never on the show (or they were, but much too briefly - Jenny/Giles or Xander/Cordelia for example!) but there are some that even I never even considered. Usually this is for obvious reasons - but I surprised myself when I thought of a couple that I’d never considered before but now seems so obviously wonderful!

Are you ready? Wesley (Alexis Denisof) and Glory (Clare Kramer)! It would be important that it was Wesley circa season four or five of Angel, and Glory circa season 5+. My idea of how it would work would be that Glory comes back (can you truly kill a Hell God?) but with less power, or maybe she’s almost-human. The catch would be that she’s still linked to Dawn Summers, who is the key. Harming Glory would mean harming Dawn. So protective older sister Buffy would send Glory away, but somewhere safe to be watched. I would like the idea of Wes being in charge! He is all Watcherly-trained!

Maybe he would have to disappear with her, leaving Angel Investigations, or maybe not. Either way, Glory would be in his charge. And whether an actual romance would bloom between them isn’t the point. Glory is a vibrant and fun character, and Wes is so sarcastic and broody (hey - Angel isn’t the only one who broods). I’d love to see the dynamic of differences between them. I love the character of Glory, she’s similar to ‘old school’ Cordy - but amplified x a billion. There are lots of directions this could take.

I also wish that somehow Glory could have been a part of Once More With Feeling, the Buffy musical. She would have had an awesome song. Man - she should have a whole abum! I wonder if Clare Kramer can sing?

To end this, here are two magnificently amazing Glory quotes from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer season five episode Checkpoint:

Glory: Sunnydale’s got too many demons, and not enough retail outlets.

Glory: Buffy! If I wanted to fight, you could tell by the being dead already.
