From Scandal to Soundtrack: The Sex and the City Movie Aftermath

Should we discuss the Sex and the City movie? I think we should. I’m listening to the soundtrack right now. I’m very pleased that The Weepies were included on the soundtrack because since I heard ‘The World Spins Madly On’ in the movie Because I Said So (very fun and light chick flick with Diane Keaton, Tom Everett Scott*, Mandy Moore, Lauren Graham, Piper Perabo* and Stephen Collins) I’ve been loving them. I could do without the Fergie track, but the supa-fine tracks by Jennifer Hudson (American Idol alum), Jem, and india.arie make up for that.

As for the dress debacle with Sarah Jessica Parker at the New York premiere, well, yes, I do have an opinion.

TV Show Mom’s Say the Darndest Things (Mom Quotes!)

Upon discovering Postcards From Yo Momma I have felt uplifted that I am not the only one with a crazy mother. I suppose this is nice timing (I can’t actually say I planned this) since Mother’s Day is fast approaching. I had to google the day myself. For anyone who may have forgotten and are asking themselves ‘when is Mother’s Day anyway?’ - worry no more: it’s on Sunday, May 11th for 2008. But as for a Mother’s Day gift, that’s up to you. And here’s some wise, kind advice: no one wants another coffee mug.

Dear Sweetie Pie,

I have acquired a beautiful yet practical blue, gold,and clear glass seder plate for the [xxx] family. It is the kind I would choose for myself: artistic yet easy to wash, not too heavy, and having no crevices for food to stick to. It’s too bad they won’t have it for the first night of Passover. I hope they don’t go out and buy one. Can you hint that they won’t have to after Sunday? It would be a shame.

Jewlez CD
Hey,

I got a package from Jewlez (or something name like that today from Florida.) I opened it and it was a brand new Doors CD. I have not ordered a Doors CD. Did any of you? With the way things are, I wanted to follow-up to make sure no one is using my name/ID.

Well, if you solve the mystery, you get a prize. (No, it is not a trip to Hawaii, but it could be a very nice dinner at Applebee’s.

Also, Maisie has to have expensive surgery next week. Taz is ugly and your dad snores. My life is rich beyond words.

Pairing Our Gilmore Girls with Dorothy Parker Equals Perfection

People seemed to enjoy the graphic I made of Emily Gilmore in this post here, so I made some more. These are Gilmore Girls based, as well. Amy Sherman-Palladino, who was the creator of The Gilmore Girls, named her production company Dorothy Parker Drank Here. Rory was also seen on the show as reading The Portable Dorothy Parker. Ergo, I feel the quotes and images have a symbiotic bond of sorts.

Where are our Gilmore Girls? [ Lauren Graham Edition ]

With nothing decent to watch on TV where does a TV junkie go? She seeks solace in her DVD collection. For me, that’s meant Gilmore Girls DVDs.

They usually make me smile. I’ve heard talk about a possible new show on NBC with Lauren Graham. Although, with the strike having happened, I don’t know where that stands. I might know if I could call Lauren Graham, but I misplaced her cell number.

So, while I can’t deliver that good news (yet), I’m still going to talk about Gilmore Girls. The show has been off the air since May 15th 2007 . So, I’ve gotta know - what are those Gilmore Girls doing now?

After visiting Disney World and riding the teacups exactly 30 times they decided to fast for three days and then eat only foods that rhymed with ‘can’. Sadly, that meant they could only eat flan and Spam. After their short hospital visit - where they filled up on a variety of questionable hospital foods and got fluids pumped into them through IVs (and hours of watching The Cosby Show), they both had to go on with their careers. (Note: This might all be my imagination.)
