A Dad to Rival Keith Mars. Or: Guess Who’s Leading the Anti-Aniston/Mayer Rebellion!
I totally come through and make good on all my promises. At least the ones I remember and/or actually want to. Huzzah! So, I told my Dad I was going to dedicate a post to him, and heeeeere it is! Initially, I was going to talk about how he’s all super-wonderful and how he reminds me wonder-dad, Keith Mars (Veronica Mars). If you can’t have a Gilmore Girls Mom, this is really just as great.

I have decided to tell you just a fraction-small reason of WHY my Dad is fun. (This is besides the fact that he likes to say his name is Toby Maguire, while he doesn’t like the actor.) A perpetual channel surfer (a horror to me, who never wants to miss a single second of the show I’m watching) my Dad flips around to all channel’s. So, the other day we were on some entertainment show and they were talking about Jennifer Aniston (our dear Rachel Green from Friends) and John Mayer, swimming. Which is apparently world breaking news, or something. But unless they were swimming in lava, I don’t think I care.

Kristen Bell Looking Like Diane Kruger in a Creepifying Way
Kristen Bell (Heroes, Veronica Mars) in Peach Magazine looks eerily like Diane Kruger:

Speaking of Diane Kruger, as I understand it (and who knows how well I understand anything!) Kruger was going to be in Moonlight, but then backed out - seems like a good call since the show has now been canceled. And I completly understand why. Not even Jason Dohring could get me to watch that after two episodes.
Kruger dates Joshua Jackson, who will be in the new J.J. Abrams Fox tv show, Fringe. Yay! Two cute pictures of the couple after the jump.
You guys - let me know if the season three finale of Supernatural KILLEDYOUDEAD cause I am going to arrange some group therapy! Oh, Dean!
Today is a day to listen to Veruca Salt songs as loud as possible, wear green eye shadow, and drink sugary lemonade that makes you lick your lips after every sip. (Oh, and to catch up on Greek!)

The Plastic Polygamist: Amanda Seyfried
Color me uber pleased to see the talented and fantastical Amanda Seyfried on Elle.com today. I first saw her as the mischievous and very much deceased Lilly Kane on Veronica Mars. She had been the best friend of the title character, played by Kristen Bell. Never before had I ever been so wrapped up in a character that technically wasn’t in the cast. Then again, she was. In her own special way. And Lily’s presence lived on through the three seasons of the show. The show couldn’t have happened without her death, and yet I truly wish she could have been on the show more.
The other TV show I know her from is HBO’s Big Love. I never would have thought I’d like a show with the premise of polygamy, and yet it’s compelling and entertaining - so I’m a fan.
Seyfried’s also been in some movies you may have seen: Mean Girls (are there any teen girls out there who didn’t see this?), Alpha Dog, (and the upcoming) Mamma Mia!
Oh, and my subject title? In Mean Girls she was a ‘plastic’ aka one of the most popular girls, and the rest I already explained. Although, just to clarify - Seyfried’s character isn’t so much a polygamist as her parents are.

When Life Pulls You Down - TV Show Fanvids Are There For You
Listen up - ’cause here’s an easy statement to apply to your roller coaster existence: when life sucks, you need some music. Sad music will let you wallow (Sarah McLachlan never lets me down - Felicity Porter (Felicity) and I have that in common), but if you’ve got any intentions of pulling yourself up out of the proverbial sludge - you need something with a fast, makes you dance, amps up your heart - beat. So, that’s what I’m gonna deliver here.
I listen to DVD commentary for my favorite shows, which - while sometimes time consuming, is always rewarding. I believe it was for commentary on the pilot of Alias where I heard J.J. Abrams say that for the infamous strut that Sydney does in her red-magenta hair in an airport, he had music going so that Jennifer Garner would really nail that strut. And if five seasons of a show (and a successful movie career) can say anything - I think it says she did.
I will add that my method here, with these vids, is Jessica-is-not-a-doctor-but-boy-does-she-look-pretty-in-a-white-jacket approved, and when I tested it, it worked. So save this page. Because we all know life can be a real bitch.
Oh - and this is also the next installment in the Sofachip Fanvid Appreciation Awards. So if you’re featured here, go on and claim your banner after the jump.

Let’s kick this off with my favorite TV Doctor, Dr. House. He may be cranky, but he inspired one of my favorite House M.D. fanvids. The Gorillaz - Feel Good inc. song is perfect for a video with fast pacing and as much glee as there is angst. It doesn’t matter WHO you ship with House - if you like him, if you like the show - you’re gonna like this video. No. I take it back. You’re gonna love it.

They’re Baaaack! Our Favorite Shows from The WB

It’s just like looking at an old yearbook, isn’t it? I mean, if you went to high school with vampires, werewolves, and bitchy cheerleaders. Hey, you know what? Some of us probably did.
So, The Warner Bros. Television Group is dong something that we can all be pretty happy about (werewolves included). They’re going to be putting up the website, TheWB.com. The site is going to be, “a premium, ad-supported, video-on-demand, interactive and personalized network” according to their press release. The site is still in beta mode - complete with a ‘clever’ graphic that says ‘We’re Back’ with The WB logo. I don’t see that frog anywhere, though. Remember that frog? Oh, come ON. You have to remember the frog.
There will be original programming streamed on the site, but there will also be some of our favorite TV shows. This includes: Gilmore Girls, Friends, One Tree Hill, Veronica Mars, Everwood, Smallville, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Roswell.
Maybe we should lobby for Felicity, Popular and Grosse Point to be added. That last show hardly got a fair chance, and it was so damn fun! Our winner of the DVD contest didn’t cite an old WB show as one of her favorites, but she might like them anyway. And who is that winner, you ask? Maybe I won’t tell you! Maybe I’ll make you wonder and wonder and…oh, but I have a massage scheduled in ten minutes (this is a total lie, do you really think I’m that fabulous?*) so I’ll tell you that it was Patty F. from Boston, Massachusetts! She’s won Enchanted on DVD. Patty, please e-mail Emad@Sofachip dot com (.com) with your address!
Okay, I can’t stop thinking about the frog. Michigan J. Frog! Remember the ‘Watch the Frog’ commercials? Here’s one with Milo Ventimiglia and Jamie Kennedy (who was great at Randy Meeks in Scream, but most everything else he’s done has been lame - such a shame).

*Hey, I actually AM that fabulous, I just don’t have a trained personal masseuse. Yet.
